Up your fashion cred with fashion bomb, Triselle ! Remember this necklace I wore to Vacation in a Spa ? Yes, it was sent to me by the sweet folks at Triselle.com for my Vacation in a Spa party. This message was at the back of the brand tag. And I totally concur with it. 😛 Now, let’s check out the Triselle Twisted Rope Necklace in all its glory! Afterthoughts… If you’re looking to jazz up a plain looking outfit or try something that is a wee bit outside your comfort zone, this is definitely the ideal accessory to invest in. The bold and quirky rope design adds a tinge of zest to any ensemble. I thought the necklace goes very well with my bohemian dresses, cropped tops and skinny jeans creating a spunky look. Even though the necklace looks like it weighs a ton but it is actually pretty lightweight. No neck aches after hours of wearing it. Everything about the design is beyond words except this feature. The elastic ring bands at the sides of the necklace are detachable making them vulnerable to loss. So when you remove the necklace, make sure you hold on to the ring bands to prevent them from falling off the necklace. Material is good and durable and workmanship of the necklace is decent too. However, Mr Postman damaged it along the way. 🙁 Every item at Triselle.com are checked for defects before mailing but the trigger of the clasp arrived faulty. I notified Triselle.com and told them I was going to mail the defective item back to them. But guess what? Instead of agreeing to it, they told me to choose another item from their collection to replace the defective item as a gesture of goodwill! OMG! So I happily shopped away at Triselle’s site and chose the Layer Chain Necklace for my next fashion review. Then more unfortunate things happened. The mail got lost along the way… 🙁 Singapore Post????!!!! Seriously???!! Then when Triselle realized the necklace had not reached me, they sent me the Layer Chain Necklace AGAIN! The pier dining experience is great but it can get quite chilly in the evening, so do remember to bring a cardigan. I also thought they could improve their lighting by the pier as it was quite dark in the late evening and I could hardly see what I was eating. Nonetheless, the splendid fireworks shows and scrumptious grilled seafood have definitely won me over so 3.5 Honeyz crowns! The event was also graced by top food bloggers of Singapore. The pore strip did not tug as much either, so I did not feel pain when I rip the strip off. Here’s another difference I observed. The pore strips that I’ve tried before usually remove only the surface parts of blackheads which makes it very ineffective. The Black Head Clinic Sheet solves this problem by efficiently removing blackheads from the root. I derived this from the size of the blackheads on the used strips. Then I was introduced to Emily – the hair magician who is going to transform my boring black hair into tousled brown waves. Emily just moved here from Seoul so she does not understand our Singlish accent that well. But no worries, you’re still going to get your winning hair style because the rest of the girls have been working in the salon for some time and they are always willing to do the translation for you. My belongings were kept safe in an assigned locker and locker keys were also handed to me. Before the big revamp… Usually salons serve tap water or if I’m lucky, a nice cup of hot tea. Guess what, I was served a MEAL by the Aqua Hair girls before my hair cut! And snacks too! Talk about good service! Then Emily presented the star of the day – the hair color palette. *big smile* I deliberated over the hair color palette before finally choosing this for my crowning glory. Shortly after taking the two photos above, I was told that waiting time was over and I can head to the sink to rinse my hair. The hood dryer hastened the drying process. I think I waited for less than 10 minutes. Emily gave me a relaxing scalp massage during the hair wash. She applied different massage techniques with different products. i.e. shampoo, conditioner. She scrubbed my scalp with the pads of her fingers when she used the shampoo and gave me a traditional head massage when she applied the conditioner. Time to time, Emily thoughtfully asked if I was ok with the strength. I like a massage with much strength and precision so her usual strength is great for me. If you’re not into a strong massage, just ask for a lighter one. 🙂 Then she wrapped my dripping wet hair like a Korean ajumma! Before she dried my hair, she placed a warm towel on the back of my neck and massaged it. Heavenly! Then she applied leave-in conditioner, L’Oreal Thermo Cell Repair to condition and protect the hair cuticles before blow drying them. Emily used two hair dryers! Curling in progress! Emily left the brush on my head to help the curls stay longer. Haha! Check out my latest hair accessory! After a mere 2.5 hours, I’m done! Tadah! Back view. Side view. I love my new hairstyle! The curls made me look so feminine and I thought I adopted a more girly demeanor (with the way I walked and talked) that afternoon. Haha! Thank you Emily! I always appreciate beauty brands that go the extra mile to ensure the freshness of their products. Of course, the second thing that caught my attention was the aromatic rose fragrance. Take a deep whiff and you’ll feel instantly calm and relaxed too. Since the toner does not contain alcohol, it does not leave a squeaky clean effect on the skin. In fact, the product feels a little more viscous than normal causing the skin to feel slightly tacky to the touch during the first few minutes of application. Toners are meant to balance your skin’s pH levels and act as an astringent to minimise the appearance of your pores. Honestly, I don’t have have sufficient info to prove that the ingredients in this product will balance your pH levels. In fact, skin should be able to balance itself out so that’s not an issue. Also, since the product does not contain alcohol, it’s is definitely not acting as an astringent here. However, I like that the toner contains a beneficial array of skin-reparative and moisturizing ingredients such as glycerin, sodium hyaluronate and even snail secretion filtrates. So if you’re looking to amp up the moisturising factor of your skincare regimen, this is still a great product to add to your beauty stash. 3.5 Honeyz crowns! Its consistency is also a lot thicker than the toner’s as you can tell from the photo below. Even though the essence is essentially a more watered-down serum, it still feels pretty concentrated and rich. My skin felt greasy immediately after application. However, the feeling lasted only seconds as the greasiness was quickly replaced by a smooth finish after a few gentle rubs. Just a few drops each time and my skin stays hydrated all day. I also use this on my neck to reduce the tight feeling on my skin after showers. 4 Honeyz crowns! Imagine my confusion when I saw the actual toner in the packaging. So what is this? After reading the label, I realised it’s simply a moisturiser. (Oh yeah! Long before the Japanese referred their toners as lotions, lotions were actually moisturisers.) The texture of the lotion is significantly thicker. Despite its higher viscosity, the product was absorbed by my skin pretty quickly, leaving behind a nice smooth sheen. Long lasting hydrating properties should be non-negotiable in a lotion and since the product delivered just that, I give it a huge thumbs up! My only gripe is the absence of a pump feature to dispense the product. This is what happens when I try to draw the lotion from the tiny opening of the bottle everytime. Besides the lack of pumping mechanism, the lotion works pretty well for me. Here’s a quick comparison of my face before and after using the Real Rose products. I thought the redness on my face is less noticeable now and my skin also looks more taut and supple. Now that’s what I call putting the roses back in your cheeks. 😛 3.5 Honeyz crowns!
