What can fill the void left behind by the tremendous joys of Christmas and our beloved Lunar New Year? Well the magic of Disney of course! Ever since it was announced, I’ve been counting down the days and seconds to the release of my most anticipated movie of the decade, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast . With every teaser and clip that I see, my excitement only increases by leaps and bounds and don’t you know it! With just a week left to the release of Beauty and the Beast, I find myself gleefully inundated with messages from friends, family and even Disney themselves. Every time there’s a new Beauty and the Beast related release, be it makeup, clothes, accessories or even toys, you betcha, I’m the first to know about it and I simply can’t contain the excitement any longer. • Cheers To Another Amazing Carn-Evil At The Stryker Household! 🍾 (+ a giveaway)

Double the boos, double the trouble, double the fun! Okay, don't quote me on that. How have you guys been? Hope it has been a fang-tastic October for you so far. Even though Halloween parties are completely out of the question, I still tried my best to make the most of it at home. Just the other night, I finished Netflix's The Haunting of Bly Manor which is just as eerie and possibly more heartbreaking than its predecessor, The Haunting of Hill House. It took me some time to understand why this series got to me so much. There are definitely horror TV dramas and movies that employ more frightful scare tactics but somehow this series sparked such intense, lingering feelings and emotions in me that I can't stop thinking about them. That's when my smart (and also movie-fanatic) husband pointed out that most horror films usually employ a combination of horror and excitement whereas this series uses a unique combination of horror, sadness and love. I feel so much regret for these characters which I don't even feel for traditional love stories. I guess this is what amazing storytelling looks like, it stirs the emotions. Well, if you're still looking for a good TV series to get you through the scary season, I highly recommend The Haunting of Bly Manor. Anyway, I hope I didn't dampen the mood too much. To lighten things up after Bly Manor, you could make some pumpkin spice latte and enjoy it with a fun Halloween flick like Adam Sandler's Hubie Halloween which I promise will give you all a wicked good time. Psst! Lotsa Halloween decor inspo in there too! Also available on Netflix. I had a spooktacular time decorating my home for Halloween and also shared how I spooked up my home in this post . Go check it out if you haven't already! Today, I thought I could show you how I spend the day at home during Halloween week, from reading my favourite horror novels, to conjuring spells (W arning: For expert spell casters only 👻) to ensuring there's enough boos for the Halloweekend! And I make sure I indulge in my me-time in some beautiful numbers from Joop Boo-tique, I mean Boutique. Psst! They even created a top inspired by my personal style and named it after me. Omg omg! In the cover photo above 👆: Left: GINGHAM OFF SHOULDER CROPPED TOP + PLEATED MAXI SKIRT Right: JULIANA BOHO TOP + CHECKS MINI SKIRT Good news! Joop Boutique would like to extend their Halloween wishes to you by giving two lucky Instagram followers a Juliana Boho top each. How cool is that?! Click here to join! Now without further ado, let's grab your pumpkin spice lattes and spend All Hallows' Eve with me at home! Before I conclude Halloween 2020 on I Love Bunny, the RESCU Rangers and I would love to chime in on the scary flicks recommendation. Well, research shows a little stress and anxiety can actually increase your productivity so here are some of our family-friendly and ghoulish film recommendations! Dr. Bobby Stryker: Family Friendly Recommendation: Ghostbusters - for its perfect blend of humor, sharp wit and memorable ghouls! Who doesn’t love the Marshmallow Man! Really Scary Recommendations: The Omen, The Thing (Original), Halloween (Original) and Evil Dead (Original) - all gave me sleepless nights as a kid after I sneakily managed to catch them on TV when I should’ve been in bed sleeping. Juliana Stryker: Family Friendly Recommendation: Casper - As a fan of the cartoon, seeing the live action lived up to all my expectations and more! It was the first ghost story which didn’t scare me sideways as a kid growing up. Really Scary Recommendations: The Conjuring series - Love all the unexpected twists and the idea that they’re all rooted in so called ‘true’ events makes them even more spooky! Sebastian Chong: Family Friendly Recommendation: The Addams Family - In a strange way The Addams Family resonated with me with their message that’s its okay to be different as long as you’re happy! Really Scary Recommendations: None... I fainted after watching the first 5 minutes of Paranormal Activity! Now I’m too scared to watch anything more scary than Casper or The Addams Family! I hope you had fun spending the day with me. I’m curious - do you decorate your home for Halloween too? My husband thinks I’m the only one in our local community. I vehemently disagree!! How’s that possible??! 🙋‍♀️🙋🙋‍♂️ if you spook up your homes for the scary season too! Anyway with everything that’s going on this year, evidently there will be no hexes, spells or poison parties, but hopefully there will still be lotsa bugs, I mean hugs, kisses and Halloween wishes for you beautiful souls. Happy Halloween and to all, a good fright! Your friend, Juliana #ilbhalloween

  • Summer, I’m Coming For You!

Howdy doody! If you’ve been following me on my IG stories, you probably already know I’ve been hard at work on my new little business baby, RESCU Rangers, a mobile clinic that provides accessible health care for everyone. As you can imagine, the uncommon nature of this concept brings about a unique set of hurdles that I’ve never faced before with my other business ventures. But! I still believe there’s always rainbow after the rain! Even though the stricter regulations heighten the barrier to entry by tenfold, we were still able to knock down the barriers one by one in the last few weeks. Slowly but surely! To take the heat off our workload, I decided to introduce my new rainbow mantra LITERALLY into the studio to remind myself to keep believing! Haha! And of course, the new colours also work perfectly with the warmer season. In this post, I wore my favorite summer trend since 2016’s – Peek-a-Boo Shoulder Cut-Outs! I love that they are sexy enough for date night and still conservative enough for work meetings. If you can’t beat the heat, join it! Scroll down to join me on my great summer adventure! The Joop Boutique Contrast Cold Shoulder Dress is now available here . Are you all ready for summer too? What are your fashion-must-haves this warm season? Let me know by commenting below! • Bonjour! Emily In Paris.. Or Sunny Singapore? 😜

The entire city looks like Ratatouille. - Emily My exact sentiments when 'the Disney Geek in me' first visited Paris many years ago. As you can no doubt see, I’m very much living vicariously through the eyes of the hit Netflix series, E mily in Paris, in a case of art imitating life imitating art! Not since Sex & The City and Gossip Girl has there been such a fashionably binge-worthy TV show, until now that is! The show has had me tripping down the Rue Royale of my memories and my heart yearning for another magical stroll along the banks of the Seine! * SPOILER ALERT * The scene where Emily is invited to a product launch party (Durée Cosmetics) for influencers definitely had me chuckling!  She was asked to post about the brand at least five times, was treated poorly by her fellow attendees, and received a smaller PR goodie bag than content creators with larger followings. Whoa?! Thankfully in real life, events are always full of love, laughter and a lot of good times with these peeps! I also have to clarify that brands and PR companies here in Singapore are always generous and kind to all of us, regardless of how many followers we each have.  But I digress. Today's objective is all about Emily's lust-worthy (and so-NOT-ringarde) wardrobe. I'm especially in love with her plaid suit and red beret look. I recreated the look by trading the plaid suit for a smart blazer dress with short frilly sleeves that added a nice feminine flair to the coordinate. Also swapped the red beret for a red newsboy cap and the black strappy heels for an elegant red pair which is also an ode to her red beret. A crowning piece to the look is my très chic Peter Pan chain satchel which I proudly wore like a true Disney trouper. Don't mind the London scene on the bag. 😅 And here's the full ensemble! The Style Squad Foundation: SHU UEMURA Unlimited Breathable Lasting Fluid Foundation Blush, highlighter and contour powder: Pixi Beauty, Ultimate Beauty Kit, 5th Edition Eyeliner: TheFaceShop Dress: Joop Boutique (Coming soon) Bag: Danielle Nicole Shoes: Aldo Beret: Paris Earrings: Lovisa Watch and bracelet: Daniel Wellington Now all I need to complete the look is Emily’s iconic phone case. Hehe! 📷 Did you enjoy Emily In Paris too? Which is your favourite look from the show? Let me know in the comments below! Psst! I'm also in love with Sylvie's green asymmetrical d ress . Well, this is a look for another day. Bonsoir! Your friend, Juliana #emilyinparis

  • Health Couture by Dr Bobby Stryker

Guest Post Say hello to a healthy 2013 with Honeyz’ new health and wellness segment – Health Couture! To glow from within, you gotta eat right and live right. So on top of helping you with your fashion, beauty and travel related decisions, Honeyz would also like to partake in your health decisions with our brand new segment – Health Couture by Dr Bobby Stryker *! * Dr Stryker is a registered Family Physician in Singapore and a specialist in General Practice (MRCGP) in the UK. In each instalment of Health Couture, Dr Stryker will shed light on women’s health issues and address medical misconceptions that we commonly fall prey to. In this first edition of Health Couture… Even though Breast Cancer Awareness Month October is long over, we should never stop caring for the health of our bosom buddies and educating ourselves, family and friends about breast cancer. So in this first edition, Dr Stryker will share some of the mistaken notions, common symptoms, techniques for screening and diagnosis of breast cancer. Please welcome Dr Bobby Stryker. Hello Honeyz Belles, my name is Bobby Stryker and it is my privilege today to be able to write for the readers of ilovebunny.net. I’ve been a fan of the site and a fan of Juliana’s for quite some time, we’ve even collaborated together on a number of occasions on my movie site maximumextreme.net where Jules has shared her surprising insight into movies. Today, however, I’m not here to talk about movies but something much more relevant to women everywhere. When not reviewing movies I work full time as a doctor specializing in general practice and family medicine. When Juliana asked me to do an article on breast cancer and breast awareness I agreed it was definitely something worth doing. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Singaporean women with an incidence of approximately 59 per 100,000 women per year. All women are at risk and the risk increases with age. There are some common misconceptions about breast cancer that women should be aware of. Although breast cancer has a hereditary component often there is actually no family history. Also, having large breasts, using deodorant sprays, wearing bras or having a breast injury does not increase breast cancer risk. Breast cancer does not always present as a breast lump but may present with bleeding and discharge from the nipple, retraction / inversion of the nipple, abnormal skin thickening and persistent rashes around the nipple. In fact nine out of ten breast lumps actually turn out to be non-cancerous as are most breast lumps in women under the age of 30. Remember, cancerous breast lumps tend to be painless and slow growing, so this is one instance where pain is a more positive sign. Early detection increases survival so this is where you must do your part by performing regular monthly self-breast examination (best done one week after your menses) and also by going for regular mammograms annually if you are aged 40 to 49 and every 2 years if you are over 50. If you are under 40 please do not request your doctor send you for a mammogram as breast tissue in younger women is denser meaning mammograms are not accurate. If you do find a lump or any concerning breast changes, then please see your family doctor promptly for a medical examination and referral to see a breast specialist. The breast specialist may perform special scans or take a biopsy to confirm your diagnosis. Having breast cancer is not a terminal diagnosis and does not guarantee that you will need to have a mastectomy (breast removal). Certain breast cancers, if detected early, can be treated with non-surgical measures such as radiotherapy, chemotherapy and hormonal treatments. Survival from breast cancer in Singapore is improving thanks to the increased awareness of Singaporean women, early detection of cancer and in turn early treatment. For more information visit the Singapore Breast Cancer Foundation – http://www.bcf.org.sg or visit your family doctor. Be healthy, exercise, eat plenty of fruit and vegetables, limit your alcohol intake and finally be breast aware to give yourself the best chance you can. I hope this article has been informative and look forward to returning to Honeyz again. Until next time, I bid you adieu ladies. To your good health, Bobby Stryker MBBS MRCGP Very insightful. Thanks Dr Stryker. 🙂 If you have any further comments or questions regarding breast cancer or if there are any health issues that you would like Dr Stryker to address in the next Health Couture instalment, please feel free to let us know by commenting below. Once again, thanks for reading and cheers to great health! Your friend, Juliana #BreastCancerAwareness #GuestPost #HealthandWellness #HealthCouture

  • Do Venus Legacy Body Contouring Treatments Work?

Loving yourself isn’t vanity. It is sanity. I remember first seeing cryotherapy clinics claiming to be able to help with weight loss popping up everywhere ages ago. Of course I dismissed them as another baseless attempt to prey on my constant desire to stay trim with as little effort as possible. Even B said that it didn’t make much sense medically. Well lo and behold! Several years on and suddenly cryotherapy is all the rage and yeap, you guessed it, even B is touting all the medical evidence behind cryotherapy now. Specifically how it can reduce inflammation and speed recovery post workout as well as assist in weight loss. You can find images of the likes of Will Smith and Mark Wahlberg, celebs and athletes, using cryo-chambers as part of their training regimes and singing their praises. Medical science keeps evolving so quickly that it seems even docs themselves are sometimes playing catch-up and have to keep themselves up to date to ensure they practice the best possible medicine based on current available evidence. B says that when he started med school he was told by his lecturers that 50% of everything he’d learn would be either be proven wrong or out of date by the time he graduated, what they couldn’t tell him is which 50%. 😛 So this time when I had the opportunity to experience a new body contouring treatment at Celevenus Aesthetic & Wellness Clinic , I shouted gimme gimme gimme! The experienced team suggested that instead of going for the cryo freezing option, I instead try their Venus Legacy Heat Treatment . The Venus Legacy treatment uses multi-polar Radio frequency and pulsed electro magnetic fields to produce heat under the skin‘s surface. This process helps to naturally increase collagen and elastin fibers while also shrinking the volume of fat cells. Wait! Could this be the next cryotherapy? Simultaneously, an adjustable pulsed suction (called VariPulse) gently pulls the skin upward, which makes the treatment more comfortable and allows the energy to travel even deeper into the tissue. The result is a body that looks slimmer and more sculpted, skin that looks tighter and cellulite which appears markedly reduced. At the end of the 10 sessions, I lost 4cm off my thighs. I went from 56cm to 52cm without adjusting my diet or adopting a more aggressive fitness plan. My upper body feels more or less the same but my pants now feel looser at the thigh areas. What sorcery is this! I’ve always been bottom heavy and I know well that there is no such thing as targeted spot fat loss, you have to train your whole body to eventually get the results and fat loss where you want it. These results truly surprised and impressed me. Some slimming clinics in the past have warned me against exercising for fear that I may get bulky and end up with the opposite results to what I want. But in reality, even if you train with weights, ladies generally won’t bulk up as women simply lack the testosterone needed to do so. Even a lot of guys struggle to bulk up in the gym though they might be training hard and downing gallons of protein shake! This made my experience at Celevenus even more enjoyable, as they keenly endorse a holistic approach to increase your overall fitness and wellbeing, encouraging good rest, exercise, nutrition and hydration. Thank you! I would like to also give a huge shoutout to my beauty therapist, Hong Jie for all her health advice, attentive service and remarkable knowledge of the treatments and products! Even though the Venus Legacy treatment is almost like a soothing, heated massage, I had to request to turn down the temperature many times as I have an extremely low tolerance to heat. Because of this, my Venus Legacy treatments always took more time to complete. A session usually lasts an hour but mine would take up to 1.5 hours. Despite this, Hong Jie always assured me that time is not wasted if we can see good results and also constantly emphasized that the Venus Legacy experience should always be a pleasant one. As such, we usually spend the extra treatment time sharing beauty tips and chatting about everything under the sun. Hong Jie has certainly made the experience a much more magical one for me. Thank you Hong Jie! And of course, thank you so much to all the talented folks at Celevenus for being a part of my body transformation journey! With their insight and knowledge, I was able to increase my fitness at home while their talented therapists did their thing with the Venus Legacy treatment. The results were definite and real. I observed a true and sustained slimming effect on my legs and thighs and I have to admit, overall I feel that my health is much better. With the skilled team at Celevenus taking care of my health, I’m able to stay in tiptop condition so that I can focus on the health of my mobile clinic patients instead. Yay! Psst! Don’t take my word for it, try it yourself! Quote ‘ Juliana ‘ for a free consultation with the slimming experts at Celevenus and for a first trial treatment at just $200 (U.P. $250). • Let's Oogie Boogie Our Way Into Halloween!

There's children throwing snowballs instead of throwing heads. They're busy building toys and absolutely no one's dead! - Jack Skellington, The Nightmare Before Christmas. The nightmare before Christmas has officially commenced in the Stryker household! Muahaha! With everything that is going on right now, it seems like it's going to be a pretty mellow trick-or-treating season but it's okay. The show goes on. C'est parti! This is Halloween, this is Halloween! Pumpkins scream in the dead of night. How many of you found yourselves humming this classic Disney Halloween tune when you saw the title? I definitely did while writing this. Speaking of the title, the yuletide reference certainly inspired one of the key decorations for this year - a Halloween Christmas tree! To align with the ghoulish theme of the season, I avoided decorating the tree too much like an actual Christmas tree, opting instead for a desolate look, spruced up slightly with some black satin ribbons and topped off with a witch's hat (though I think the Mayor's Hat from the movie would have been a better choice). Hehe! While you tour our 'haunted mansion', you may spot Mr Skellington's ghoulish silhouette adorned on my claws! Thanks to Amanda and @indulgencenail ’s noteworthy distancing measures, I got to enjoy a little me-time and the only thing frightening was seeing her conjure these spook-tacular nail designs that are to-die-for! 👻 Psst! Quote JULIANA for 10% off all services at Nail Indulgence De Beau! Birthday peeps get an even bigger treat with an extra 5% off! Now let the carn-evil begin! They say we look alike, alas, she could not get home before midnight and now a pumpkin she will forever be! 🎃 I hope you enjoyed my little home ghoul-log. Did you decorate your home for Halloween this year too? Did you pick a movie theme? Please share all the juicy deets with me by commenting below! Meanwhile, have a fang-tastic and safe All Hallows' Eve! Bugs, hisses and Halloween wishes, Juliana #ilbhalloween

  • We’re All Mad About Sunplay’s Skin Aqua Tone Up UV Range

“It’s always tea time!” I have the dreaded combination skin type, which means it’s always challenging meeting all my skin care needs. To add salt to the wound, running a 24/7 mobile clinic means I often have to sacrifice my full skincare routine to reach my patients’ homes as quickly as possible! However, knowing that sun related damage is the most important cause of premature ageing, applying a sunscreen is something I never forget and is my single most important step after cleansing! As of late, even after sleeping well, I find myself receiving more and more comments about my tired and gaunt appearance. So it was definitely a pleasant surprise hearing this less and less the longer I used the Sunplay Skin Aqua Tone Up UV Essence Mint Green! Not only does it protect my skin from the sun but the special colour-correcting coverage offered by the sunscreen helps to even skin tone, concealing the redness due to broken capillaries around my nose and laugh lines, a property I’ve never enjoyed before in a sunscreen but something I’m definitely going to be looking out for from here on out! And the final icing on the cake is the special blend of vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and other ingredients, nourishing my skin while protecting it! Perfect! Also pictured here is the Sunplay Skin Aqua Tone Up UV Essence Lavender that can not only colour-correct but also brighten our dull skin instantly. And this is why like Alice (from Wonderland), I sometimes believe in as many as six impossible things before breakfast. Special shoutout to Sunplay and Clozette for collaborating with me on this campaign. Hit up this link for more about Sunplay’s multi-tasking sunscreen range. The sunscreens are now available at Watsons at SGD27.90 (80ml). Your friend, Juliana #Clozette #SponsoredPost #Sunplay

  • Urbanista London: Music On, World Off, Time To Lift

I love challenging myself and testing my limits, both mentally and physically. When it comes to fitness, I’ve done every type of cardio routine you can think of, always shying away from doing weights, fearful of notions like weights will make a gal bulky! Now I know that telling a woman not to ‘lift’ is as outdated as telling a woman not to read or study! Never have I felt more confident than when lifting something heavy! Combine this with a sound nutrition plan (and the fact that women have much lower testosterone than men) and I’m enjoying losing fat, getting smaller and leaner, while getting stronger and fitter! All I need are my training gloves, my Urbanista London true wireless earphones and some tunes to get my blood pumping! Outstanding audio performance combined with active noise cancellation means I can really get into the Flow and focus on the moment, while IPX4 water resistance means I don’t need to worry about working up a sweat! They’re the best gym buddy you could ask for. Quote to enjoy 10% off all regular-priced Urbanista products storewide at www.jimnrich.com . The code is valid till 2 October 2020. Now if you'll excuse me, I believe I have a gym playlist to create. Your friend, Juliana

  • Beauty Review: Himalaya Herbals Nourishing Skin Cream

My recent wide swath of work commitments has made me busier than a bumble bee. As such, I find it very challenging to even stick to my regular beauty routine. But I’m only a few months away from the Big Day so I know I can’t be a beauty renegade now. I can hear the clock ticking already! Well, I can’t cut back on the workload but I can certainly look for a solution to the problem. And my beauty remedy came in the form of Himalaya Herbals Nourishing Skin Cream! I was elated when I read about its emollient and anti-pollution properties on fellow beauty bloggers skincare entries. And wait for it… It is an all-purpose moisturiser that you can use on the body and face, at anytime of the day. Amazing, isn’t it? Scroll down to find out more about its usage and herbal contents! If you’ve been watching our local TV shows during prime time, you would have noticed this alluring commercial that features a lady looking effortlessly perfect and showing off her dewy skin while at work. And the secret to her glowy skin? This Nourishing Skin Cream from the long-standing beauty brand Himalaya Herbals! Since its inception in 1930, Himalaya has focused on developing safe, natural and innovative remedies that will help people lead richer, healthier lives. Today, Himalaya is a global leader in the herbal healthcare industry with products sold in 89 countries. Their naturally-produced products are well endorsed by more than 300,000 healthcare professionals worldwide. Why? Because their products are produced with herbs that are grown on over 700 acres of clean and green farmland. They also exercise strict control over the production process making sure that the ingredients used are cultivated using renewable resources with no pesticides or artificial fertilisers. So you can be certain that you’re only getting the best and most reliable products from Himalaya. And the best part? They make sure their products are sustainably produced by 2,500 farmers who in turn receive a steady source of income through their buyback agreements. And this socially and environmentally conscious organisation has just released their latest product – The Himalaya Herbals Nourishing Skin Cream. It is a light, non-greasy, daily-use cream, which provides all day moisturising, nourishment and protection. It is infused with natural herbal actives that produce excellent hydrating, anti-inflammatory, astringent and antioxidant effects that protect the skin from various environmental hazards. The cream is an excellent moisture retainer by preventing trans-epidermal water loss to help the skin stay healthy and supple. The cream is a herbal cocktail. Here are its main ingredients: Aloe vera – possesses properties that help to moisturize and hydrate the skin and this prevents trans- epidermal water loss . Winter cherry (Withania somnifera) roots– possesses glycosides which exhibit potent antioxidant and skin conditioning benefits. How to use? Apply it all over your body, especially on dry areas like elbows and knees. For all skin types, it can be used as a makeup base. For best results, apply regularly on the skin. Where to buy? Watsons/ Guardian/ Unity/ Giant/ Mustafa/ Exclusive Himalaya outlet located at Harbourfront centre #02-703 How much? 150ml: SGD12.90 / 50ml: SGD5.30 Here’s what I thought about the cream… Is it possible for a single moisturizing cream to be used all over the body? From the delicate skin on the face and around the eyes, to the worn weathered skin on our hands and knees? Well, Himalaya Herbals seems to think so. In a no frills turquoise green and white tub, it definitely exudes a cool glacier mint vibe. Beneath the inner foil seal resides a luscious lightly floral scented cream that is cool to the touch. Like the label claimed, its thick consistency did not constitute a sticky and greasy finish. Instead, the product feels weightless and absorbs well, creating a smoother plumper-looking complexion. Even my mother enjoyed using the cream. She liked how it delivered moisture to her parched skin without a greasy aftermath. Perhaps a tad too oily for those occasional extra hot and humid days, on the whole this is a great one for all moisturizer that I’ve found myself using on my hands, elbows, face, wherever, especially if I’m in a drying air-con environment like in the office or in the car. The cream was excellent as a primer too. It helped my makeup stay put and smudge-free for hours. Carrying one cream around instead of several definitely has its benefits. The 50ml edition is perfect for travels and even during my wedding day itself when my skin could get very dry and flaky from the pre-wedding jitters. Since I can’t lug around a ton of skincare products to hide my stressed out skin, the cream could be my concealer, moisturiser and makeup base. I can finally get my act together. 🙂 4 Honeyz crowns for the Himalaya Herbals Nourishing Skin Cream! Don’t take my word for it! Try it yourself!
