  • Gelish Nails Review: Nail Indulgence De Beau (uBeau)

Advertorial No one ever told me that gelish nails can be as addictive as chocolates. Ever since I tried gelish nails earlier this year, I’m totally hooked! Why? Cus I no longer have to go for a manicure thrice a month due to chipped nail polish as my gelish nails stays glossy and chip-free for three full weeks! I had a wonderful experience at Nail Indulgence De Beau (uBeau) the last time and so I’m back for more! (Click here to view my inaugural review on uBeau.) So there you go. A second review on uBeau’s gelish nails. 🙂 First step! Remove the gelish nails! Removal of gelish nails don’t have to be a messy affair as many have claimed. Check out the ‘grimless’ hands after gelish nail removal. 😛 I guess most of you are aware by now that you have to cure your gelish nails in an LED lamp in order for it to dry completely. Well, I used to hate this process due to my pyrophobia. Everytime I stick my hands into this thing, I feel like I’m barbequeing them in a toaster oven. I never dared to move one bit just in case those lights ‘toast’ my hands too. Well, Amanda (owner of uBeau) assured me that I will never be scalded by this thing as the temperature is not high enough even though it feels hot. None of the other nail technicians I’ve met ever told me that. When I asked them, they will usually instruct me to try not to move. So one more testimonial for uBeau’s great service! Have you ever looked into the lamp before? I was curious so I snapped a picture of it. For your reference too! This time, I’ve requested for a cheerier nail art design that is less serious and feminine than the last one (See below). So Amanda recommended these colors. Color: Shake it til you Samba (Yeah.. that’s its name.) Color: Ooba Ooba Blue Oooh.. Very pretty neon colors. I love the end result! Amanda did this polka dot french manicure design that is so cute, they look like candies! And they make me wanna sing ‘Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini…’ Haha… Well, it’s hard to delineate the design here. So here are the photos! If you like what you’ve just seen and can’t wait to try out gelish nails too… Hold your horses! I’ve got great news for you! Yes! If you quote ‘Honeyz’ at Nail Indulgence De beau (uBeau), you’ll be able to enjoy gelish nails at just $28! (It costs $50 originally.) To top it off, you enjoy 10% off for additional services! Let’s party with Nail Indulgence De Beau’s pretty nails today! Psst! I actually heard a uBeau customer said this before she left the salon, “Wow, this is the most beautiful nails I’ve seen. Best manicure ever!” No kidding. Before I sign off, here’s a peek at what went on ‘behind the curtains’. I looked like I was about to eat the foundation case. The cute props that made me feel hungry throughout the shoot. Lastly, I wanna thank Ms Lily Tan for her exquisitely designed food props. She’s not Ms Lily Tan by the way. They are all for sale! Check out their facebook page here ! Thanks for reading! I look forward to seeing all your pretty nails too! Send me photos! • Honeyz Charity Awareness: Singapore SPCA

Today, I’m going to switch gears and talk about something that is not related to my blog’s foci (Beauty, Fashion and Travel). Baffled? Alright, let me elucidate this further. Have you ever wondered why my blog domain is ilovebunny.net and not honeyz.com, fashion something dot com or anything of those sorts? Yes, ‘I Love Bunny’ is unrelated to Honeyz or her objectives at all (No, it wasn’t inspired by Playboy either). Well, as the name suggests, it is a proclamation of my love for my pet bunny. Besides, it sounds really cute. 😛 My bunny, my best friend. I understand that creating a blog url that is entirely unrelated to my blog name or objectives is a very bad marketing and branding move for my website. But I guess my love for my rabbit far exceeded my branding objectives. This domain name also serves as a constant reminder of my commitment towards my bunny. A pet is not a toy. Once you acquire one, you should take full responsibility of its well-being and shower him with the love and care that he deserves. Okok. I’m getting to the point. The intent of this post is not to profess or pledge my undying love for my bunny but to raise awareness for the many abandoned animals that are out there because of their irresponsible owners. If you’re wondering why I’m doing this. Because I believe in the notion that a Honeyz belle should not always be hunky-dory about life, but also always have a heart to contribute back to the world that she lives in. And I believe all you ladies who are reading this now IS a Honeyz belle and I’m proud of you. 🙂 Do you know that there are many celebrities who possess this Honeyz spirit too? Not only are they talented and beautiful, but they are also all ready to give back to society anytime. Jeannie Mai, Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Hayden Panettiere, just to name a few. So, from time to time, I’m going to share information on the various Voluntary Welfare organizations (VWO), Social Enterprises and Non-Profit organizations (NPO) in Singapore. And today’s Charity limelight is none other than The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). Credits to www.spca.org.sg Little animals are so adorable that many have acquired them on impulse which have often resulted in abandonment as these pet owners were often not fully aware of the kind of responsibility that was cast upon them. The SPCA takes in a whopping number of 600 abandoned animals every month. This is made up of cats, dogs and rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters. Many of these animals had owners who gave them up because no one had the time to take care of them. Some of these pets were even abandoned on the streets to fend for themselves. Just imagine pitiful unkempt and hirsute-looking abandoned animals on the street. Awful sight I know. So how can you help? Report animal abuse! Become a volunteer or even better, become a corporate volunteer and get everyone in your workplace involved! Don’t buy animals from pet shops, foster animals at the SPCA instead! Become a sponsor! Help fund SPCA’s welfare work. To find out more on how you can help, visit SPCA’s website ( www.spca.org.sg ) or become a fan of their Facebook page ( www.facebook.com/spcasingapore ) for daily updates on adoptions, pet care talks as well as animal movements that you can play a part in. These animals deserve a chance to live like your pets and mine. So be an animal protector today! Picture credits Photographer: My mummy and Sa’adah! They were too shy to pose for me. 🙁 Anyway, here’s a picture my mum took. I hope this post has given you a better insight on the kind of help our society needs. Remember, a ‘quintessential Honeyz girl’ always gives back! With love, Juliana Be a volunteer today! Volunteering requires us to take initiative and also provides a great platform for us to apply what we have learnt and help us grow. It’s ok if you’re a tyro in volunteering. There’s always a first time right? Moreover, most VWOs usually access your skill sets before they assign you any task. So no sweat! There are many VWOs out there that are constantly in urgent need of volunteers. For volunteering opportunities, please visit www.nvpc.org.sg Disclaimer: I’m not an official spokesperson for any of the organizations mentioned. • Nail Care Tutorial: Tips for Strong and Healthy Nails

It’s nails talk time! I have a proclivity for broken nails, as my nails are extremely brittle. As such, I’m constantly on a hunt for ways to protect my nails and to prevent another ‘cracked nails disaster’. Do you suffer from the same nail problem too? Well, fret not! Cus today, I’m going to share some tips on how to take care and strengthen your nails. 1) Dry your nails after contact with water (e.g. shower or swimming). Always keep nails dry, as prolonged contact with water will result in peeling or splitting fingernails. 2) Quit bitting your nails! Your nails are made up of layers of keratin and saliva softens the keratin. So nail biting can potentially disfigure your nails and cause nail infections. 3) Exercise good nail hygiene. Regularly trim your nails to keep them neat. Make sure that your nail instruments are clean to avoid the spread of germs. 4) File your nails correctly! File your nails in one direction towards the centre of the nail. Never do it back-and forth. 5) Moisturize and hydrate your nails. Dry nails break easily, hence apply moisturizers into your nails regularly, especially after removing nail polish. (Psst! Olive oil is a good moisturizer for nails.) 6) Eat healthy! Vitamins, especially Vitamine B and E contribute to strong nails. Thus, remember to incorporate them in your daily diet! In addition, sufficient sleep and exercise will also lead to healthy looking nails. 7) Protect your nails by applying nail polish. Nail polish increases your nails’ ability to resist breaks and it also protects your nails from free radicals. Change it every 7 days or so and do not peel the nail polish. Speaking of nail polish. Have you ladies heard of gelish gel polish? Gelish gel polish is gel that acts like a nail polish. I realized many of my friends have mistaken them for acrylic nails due to its equally long lasting effect as compared to traditional nail polish. Well… a hell of a difference. Acrylic nails are hard and they have a corrosive effect on the natural nail due to the use of primers whereas gel nails are more flexible and smoother and primers are not used. In the long run, acrylic could even damage the structure and natural shine of your nails. On the other hand, gelish nails leaves no hard impression on your nails and you can apply Gelish nail polish regularly and still enjoy healthy nails. Here’s my good friend, Jo’s testimonial for gelish nails. “Since I started using gelish nail polish, my nails are longer these days as the polish prevents them from chipping!” Well, both Jo and I agree that our nails are growing at least 0.1mm per day because of our gelish nail polishes. So the next question is where is a good place to get pretty gelish nails? Personally, I endorse Nail Indulgence De Beau (uBeau), located at Liang Seah Street. Their nail technicians are very professional and friendly. Furthermore, they have a vast array of gelish nail colours that are too darling to resist! Please click here for my review. Here are my nails, 2 weeks after the nails review post. Here’s a close up. My nail color is still in good shape. I’m impressed! Book an appointment with them today! Your journey to healthy and pretty nails start from here. Love, Juliana #gelishnails #gelishnailpolish #nailcaretips #beauty #nailsreview #NailIndulgenceDeBeau

  • Fashion Review: Love Bonito

Love Bonito (LB) is undisputedly the most successful blog shop in Singapore. Their unique and original designs has earned them a massive customer base as well as a significant place in my humble fashion-passionate heart. These days, I purchase from Love Bonito at least twice a month. Recently, LB launched a very cute romper – Rowynne Romper. I wanted the one in Sunshine (a very bright yellow), but it was sold out before I could click ‘Checkout’. And that was like within 2 minutes? So I bought the cream one instead which isn’t too bad looking… Check out the pictures! Rowynne Romper in Cream (XS size) Rowynne Romper in Cream (XS size) I love the trendy design of this piece. And I’m glad I bought the cream version as it’s less loud. Great for any place and occasion. However, the sizing is way too big for me and JW even though we were wearing the XS Size. I had to alter the sides to fit. Most of the models on LB possess hour glass figures so I guess you have to be pretty voluptuous to fit into their clothes. The material is pretty decent. Not sheer at all. This outfit is great for party nights. I was thinking you could also pair it with a midi or pencil skirt for a more feminine or corporate look. All in all, I would give this dress an 8 out of 10 for its casual trendy style. Click here to see it on LB’s website. Shawna Skirt in Cobalt (S Size) Shawna Skirt in Cobalt (S Size) It was love at first sight for me. Love the fiery delicious cobalt blue. I paired this pretty number with a tank top for a casualish look. Alright, here’s the downer. The material is rather thin, hence, the seams of your top may be visible underneath the skirt. Pretty unsightly. I would suggest wearing a shorter top with this skirt to minimize the effect. It is great for the beach too. Bikini + Shawna Skirt = Beach Goddess! Click here to see it on LB’s website. The corporate look… I swapped the tank top for a soft ruffled blouse to create a more serious and corporate look that is ideal for the workplace. ‘ Models JW Your humble blogger Behind the scenes… Camwhoring while they were busy taking pictures. Our ‘huge’ sacrifice… Well, I hope you’ve enjoyed this edition of Honeyz Fashion Review! Look out for more exciting reviews! Stay gorgeous honeyz! • Fashion Review: Forever 21

Do you have a style crush? Well, I do. I have a HUGE celebrity style crush on Vanessa Hudgens. Totally dig her bohemian-meets-high-end fashion looks. Here are some of her lustworthy dresses. I was shopping on Forever21.com recently and I spotted 2 dresses that were similar to Vanessa’s. Needless to say, I added them to my shopping cart immediately. So there you have it – A fashion review on Forever21 (F21) Pleated Floral Dress (Text taken from Forever21.com) A simply sweet dress that features flowers and adjustable straps. Sweetheart neckline. Seam stitch details on the bust. Smocked back. Hidden side zipper placket. Pleated skirt. Finished hem. Fully lined. Woven. Lightweight. DETAILS: – 27″ approx. length from bust to hem, 28″ chest, 24″ waist – Measured from Small – Shell and lining: 100% cotton – Machine wash, dry flat – Imported Click here to see the dress on Forever21.com. Polka Dot Halter Dress (Text taken from Forever21.com) Give retro glam a go in this polka dot halter dress. It features a foldover sweetheart neckline, mock partial button placket, self-tie closure, elasticized back bust, and hook-eye and zipper closure in back. A skinny patent leatherette belt sits at the waist. Light to medium weight. Woven. Partially lined. DETAILS: – 25″ approx length from bust to hem, 30″ chest, 27″ waist – Measured from Small – Shell: 65% polyester, 35% cotton; lining: 100% cotton – Dry clean only – Imported Click here to see the dress on Forever21.com. My friend, JW, in Forever 21 Afterthoughts… I love the bright mint color of this dress. The length is perfect for my 161cm frame. The hem of the skirt is about an inch above my knee. However, the material is pretty thin and the quality of workmanship is rather shoddy too. I could still see loose threads at the strap and back areas. The pit-to-pit is also too huge for me. I had to alter the straps as well as the sides for it to fit snugly. Overall, I don’t think this is a good buy as it kinda have to go through a complete “overhaul” to fit me. Too much effort so thumbs down! Taken from fonziesays.blogspot.com Polka Dot Halter Dress I’m wearing F21’s woven elastic belt by the way. Click here to see the belt on Fovever21.com. Afterthoughts… I forgot to bring the skinny patent leatherette belt to the photo shoot. Nonetheless, I thought the dress still looks good on JW. The material and workmanship of this dress is much better than the pleated floral dress. However, the bust area is quite big, so a tube is recommended. Preferably a black lacy tube. Also, the dress tend to attract lint. I had to constantly sweep the annoying fluff away. But I guess this is not a big deal as most polyester dresses have this problem. Overall, not the best buy but I don’t regret getting it. It is versatile enough to be worn for work and play. Model JW I know I’m going to sound like a broken record but I would like to emphasize again that Honeyz fashion reviews are NOT advertorial posts. I do not endorse any of those brands featured. Rather, I’m trying to show you how normal girls (girls with non-supermodel statures) look like in clothing from these famous boutiques. • Gelish Nail Review: Nail Indulgence De Beau

Advertorial Have you ever had one of those days when you just don’t feel attractive enough and feel like you’re in a desperate need of a makeover? Well I have. There’ll be days where I nitpick at my body and sulk at the little imperfections. Very unhealthy! So what do I do to feel better? I go for a nails makeover – manicure! (Since it is time-consuming and expensive to go for a more extreme makeover. 😛 ) Fresh manicured nails are like an instant makeover for me. After every pampering session, I’ll regain my self-confidence and feel like a princess again. 😀 And these days, the hottest trend in the manicure world is Gelish Nails. So what’s the difference between traditional and gelish color polish? Traditional nail polish only last 2- 5 days but their gelish counterparts can last up to 3 weeks! They also dry up within minutes after exposure to LED light. I used to dread the few hours after my manicure sessions as I have to be extra careful to not ruin my partially dried nail polish. These days I fear no more with gelish nails. After manicures, I can immediately reach into my bag to grab my wallet, keys or anything without any hassle. It is so good that I think I can even play ball games after my manicure. YAY to gelish nails! Anyway, I was really lucky to be invited by Nail Indulgence De Beau (aka uBeau) to try out their gelish nail polish. This was me all excited before the session! I was excited ok? Despite the solemn face… Sweet sweet JW accompanied me to the salon. And she’s excited too! And here we are.. at the entrance of the salon. Many pretty colors to choose from. This is Amanda, the owner of Nail Indulgence De Beau. We first met when I visited her salon to redeem my Bigdeal coupon a month ago . I really liked her service on my first visit. Her staff were also very friendly and very willing to accomodate to all my requests. The best thing is they are not pushy sales people, unlike many other salons that I’ve visited. So I recommended them on Honeyz. (Click here to see the post.) Call it quirk of fate, we kept in contact over the phone and eventually we spoke of a collaboration. So here it is! A partnership was born. Amanda removes my existing gelish nails attentively. Great! There’s entertainment! Check out the array of colors for the gelish nail color range! Pretty vast range of OPI nail colours too. Comfortable seats. I love the wallpaper of orchid motifs. File, file, cut, cut! These were the colors I chose. This is how the colors look like on the nail palettes. I had very badly chipped nails. Nail glue. Amanda applied this nail glue on my nails and they looked flawless after the manicure. And the final product… Drum roll please!!! To be fair, here are my nails in natural lighting. Behind the scenes… YT: This is how you should hold your phone. For more photos of the shoot and behind the scenes, please visit our Facebook Page . Like the nails? I have GREAT NEWS for you. Quote ‘Honeyz‘ at Nail Indulgence De Beau (uBeau) to enjoy a gelish nail manicure at $28. (The original price is $50.) That’s not all! You can also enjoy an additional 10% discount on other services such as nail art, classic manicure, pedicure, etc. So ladies (and gentlemen), bring your mummy, grandma, girlfriends and aunties to Nail Indulgence De Beau too! • Fashion Review: Agneselle (AE)

Howdy! I’ve been an ardent fan of Agneselle since 2009. Why? Cus their clothes fit my tiny frame snugly! So to pay tribute to my favorite local blog shop, I decided to do a fashion review on their clothes. If you’ve been following my blog, you would have noticed that this is my second fashion review on Agneselle’s clothes. The only difference is: this review is dedicated solely to Agneselle’s apparel. (Click here for the first Agneselle review) Alright.. Enough talk. 😛 Please allow me to present you the third installment of Honeyz Fashion Reviews. Summer Dash 5’s Friday Toga Work Dress in Jewel Green And here is my good friend, JW’s rendition of the Friday Toga Work Dress in Jewel Green. Summer Dash 5’s Friday Toga Work Dress in Jewel Green I’m a major fan of toga dresses so this hot piece definitely caught my eye when I first saw it on AE’s website. The green actually looks much darker in real life. (Check out the behind the scenes shots below for its true color.) Personally, I prefer the shade of green in the photos as it’s brighter and cheerier. (So if there are more people seeing your outfit in photos (Facebook) than in real life, it’s not such a bad idea that the color of your dress turns out better in photos. :P) I usually have a problem with tight ruched dresses as they tend to slide up as I walk. I don’t seem to have this problem with this dress so ten thumbs up to that. Not only is this dress great for parties, it is also perfect for work especially when you pair it with a blazer. JW is wearing AE’s Tailored Cropped Jacket Love the versatility. 🙂 Summer Dash 1’s Work Dress in Black (S Size) Summer Dash 1’s Work Dress in Black (S Size) This dress is perfect for the workplace. I find AE’s previous work dresses a tad short but this length is perfect. (It is 36 inches long.) As I mentioned earlier, pencil skirts and tight fitting dresses tend to slide up my heavy bottom so a longer dress would be ideal for me. I like the cutting as it accentuates the curves. All in all, I think this dress is very sexy and conservative at the same time and I love it to bits. 🙂 Picture Credits Photographer Yong Thye (YT) Models Juliana and JW Behind the scenes… My little melodrama… The Wife and the Private Investigator (PI) Wife: Spy on my disobedient husband! Singlish version: Wife: Help me take photos of my ‘Siao Eh’! PI: Sure. What’s my remuneration? Singlish version: PI: Ho seh la! How much you want to pay me? Wife: Ten donuts. • New Facebook Page and Blog Skin!

Hey Beautiful(s)! If you haven’t already noticed, I’ve added a new Facebook Page plugin on the left side of this page. I’ve created this page for you ladies (and gentlemen) to get first hand news on the latest free samples, blog posts and the gamut of privileges that you can enjoy as Honeyz Readers! How fantastic is that?! 😀 I’ll also be sharing the latest styles (from new looks to new lines) fresh off the streets of New York, London, Paris, Tokyo and Milan as well as ubiquitous but timeless fashion trends on this new Facebook page! How can you miss all these right?? Here’s the ‘Like’ button! 😛 New look for my blog! If you have forgotten the old look, here’s a little recap. It used to have a background decorated with crowns and crosses motifs accompanied by an image of a young and jaunty Honeyz mascot. Now, I’ve replaced them with a background that resembles a blusher palette and a more sophisticated version of the Honeyz mascot. I’ve also perked it with a new slogan ‘Defining the Lifestyle of the Contemporary Woman’. 🙂 Originally, I’ve wanted to create a logo for Honeyz. So I sought the help of my good friend, Yong Thye (who has a very creative streak in him). And voila! Not only did he give me a logo….. (FYI, this was the logo he created.) He also gave me a brand new banner! (He’s the best best best friend in the world!) However, the new banner did not agree with the previous background color at all….. Totally wrong… So we began to seek for a new background of a contrasting color. And there you go! A new background that was actually inspired by my Etude House’s LUCIDarling Blusher. The blusher has this graduating palette with different tones of pink. And I love the design of the blusher palette especially the ribbon closure. In addition, it smells great too! Not very pigmented….. Ok ok a little carried away here. Saving these deets for my next blusher review! *wink* Back to the new look… I really like this new blog skin. The palette background, stylish mascot and slogan reflects the purpose and the foci (fashion, beauty and travel) of my blog more clearly. Well, I hope you guys like my Facebook page and my new blog skin. (Anyone spot a pun there? :P) Keep on glowing! I’ll see you soon! Love, Juliana #facebookpage #newblogskin

  • Foundation Review: L’Oreal True Match Foundation

As the IT-girl of the 21st century, the Honeyz Belle constantly exudes confidence and display her innate capability to nail the perfect look for every occasion. Personally, I think having awe-inspiring skin is the first step to becoming this next IT-girl. I guess that doesn’t come as a huge surprise as you’ll notice that the people you first meet usually gaze at your face before they ‘scrutinize’ the rest of your body, i.e. Outfit, accessories, etc. and impressions are imprinted from there. However, perfecting the complexion has always been a very challenging terrain for most girls. So, the solution to instant perfect skin? The foundation. The term ‘foundation’ in makeup isn’t all vain talk. Webster defined ‘foundation’ as a basis upon which something stands or is supported. Well yes. In make up language, it literally forms the base of your entire make up. Your make up ‘falls apart’ when your ‘foundation’ is not up to mark. And this brings me to my second Honeyz Foundation Review. This time, I’m going to review the L’Oreal True Match Foundation. I’ve used many liquid foundations before and so far only this one kept me loyal. I have an olive toned complexion, hence the yellowish undertones of the G3, Golden Beige of this foundation blends into my skin pretty well and it does not create the bi-colour effect between the neck and the face. Also, I usually look pasty in photos. The foundation adds radiance to my face and makes me look much healthier in pictures. Just thought you might be interested… I wore the True Match foundation for the recent Honeyz Fashion Review Shoots and I like the natural and glowing look that it created! In this part of the world (referring to Southeast Asia), the foundation comes with a pump. I understand that the foundation comes in a bottle in many U.S. States. Anyway, back to the pump. I dread using foundations from bottles as it’s difficult to regulate the amount of liquid foundation that flows from the bottle and it creates an atrocious mess afterwards. The pump solves this problem. So thumbs up to that! Here’s another gaping fact about the foundation. It is extremely waterproofed. My good friend, Claudia, swears by this. Claudia and I We were in Bintan, Indonesia recently for a beach getaway. On one occasion, we decided to test the waterproof properties of our make up. Some of us were using Dior, Revlon and L’Oreal Two Way Cake and Claudia used the L’Oreal True Match Foundation for the experiment. So after 2 hours of soaking in a chlorinated pool, Claudia was the only one who still had her make up stubbornly on. The blusher on the apples of her cheeks were still highly visible! (Yup, they stayed on like super glue.) So there you go! True Match’s adhesive and water resistant properties proven! I also noticed shimmers in the foundation when it’s in the bottle, like tiny golden glitters. But when applied, they disappear. Less concentrated I guess. I slathered on some foundation for your reference. So no worries, it does not create the glittery effect on face. It’s still suitable for everyday use. The glitter is probably the True Match Foudation’s secret to its blendable properties. Coverage wise, it’s light to medium. I thought it fails on the coverage part. My blemishes and freckles are still pretty visible after application. It also has a rather short lifespan. It usually lasts 3 hours on my oily complexion. And then poof! It disappears and you have to re-apply again. In a way, I feel like Cinderella’ when I wear it as I have to remind myself to touch up the make up when the ‘optimal time frame’ is up. In addition, I experience mild breakouts from using this foundation at times. This is weird as it claims to be non-comedogenic and non-acnegenic. 🙁 I’m wearing the L’Oreal True Match Foundation in G3, Golden Beige in this picture. This picture was not enhanced in anyway. So this is how the foundation looks like under natural sunlight. It retails at Watsons at SGD 30.90. Overall, I would give this baby an 8 out of 10. Despite some of the negative factors pointed out, I can’t deny that this is an absolute godsend. No foundation feels more like second skin than this one. Moreover, this foundation had tide me over countless meetings, dates, photo shoots and dinner functions. 🙂 Ok. It’s time to serve the dessert of this post – Make up tips for liquid foundations! If you have an oily complexion, you may want to consider purchasing liquid foundations that are a shade lighter than your skin. This is because the foundation tends to turn a shade darker once it mixes with the skin’s natural oils. For the most natural look, try to match your foundation to your neck. You may perform a foundation test by first swiping on three different shades (a light, medium, and dark one for comparison) from the top of the jawline down to the neck. The one that disappears into the skin and matches the neck most closely is the one for you. Avoid foundations that have pinkish tones. They almost always look unnatural and masklike, calling attention to the fact that your neck and face are not the same shade. Instead, find a foundation with a yellowish undertone which will help to balance out any redness in the face. Use less foundation. Most people create an opaque veil of mismatched color when they slap on too much foundation. Use tinted moisturizers instead. Brighten up with some bronzer and blush if you think your foundation is too sheer to your liking. Alrighty. That’s all for this L’Oreal True Match Foundation review post. Continue to watch this space! <3 Love, Juliana Disclaimer: Do keep in mind that reviews are entirely subjective. It is normal to have differing views so please don’t hate me if I didn’t speak well of your favourite product. I definitely have no intentions of distorting the image of any brand. Well, to each his own, isn’t it? Peace! #beautyreview #cosmeticsreview #foundationreview #beauty #beautytips

  • Travel Review: Favorite Beach Getaway – Bali’s Ahimsa Beach Resort Jimbaran

Apa Kabar Honeyz Bunnies! Today, I’m gonna shed the ‘Beauty Junkie’ and ‘Aspiring Fashionista’ personas and put on my ‘Wanderluster’ hat. (Ignore the lack of parallelism.) Yes. A travel review FINALLY. In particular, my favourite beach destination. Before I dive into this review, I decided to do a mini survey with my good girlfriends on where their favorite beach destination is. Here are the responses. Favourite beach destination: The Maldives Favourite beach destination: Six Senses Ninh Van Bay Favourite beach destination: Perhentian Island Favourite beach destination: Island of Coron Gorgeous choices, ladies. Here comes my choice…. Bali’s Ahimsa Beach Resort Jimbaran! There’s not a scintilla of doubt that this fine resort is my most favourite beach getaway. It is highly recommended on Trip Advisor and is ranked number one among twenty-three others under the ‘Specialty lodging in Jimbaran’ category. If you’re wondering what’s the big deal? Well here’s the biggie… Lobby (In the evening) I was greeted by the simple and tiny lobby. (Well… The ‘big deal’ is not exactly here.) Ok. Honestly, when I first entered the lobby, I wasn’t too impressed. In fact, I started to worry about the state of the villa. Could it be crammy and dull like the lobby? Wait for it… Wait for it….. (anxious tone) There you go! Boy was I wrong about the villa! It was huge and spacious coupled with a nice aromatherapy scent. Well, I guess the lobby was probably built small on purpose to give way to the huge villas. Villa (In the evening) Love the plunge pool! I just have to do this. A cute kitchen. Entertainment systems in the living room. DVDs may be rented free-of-charge at the concierge. There’s a garden in the bathroom! Isn’t it beautiful? Gotta snap a picture! Villa (In the day) I woke up the next morning to this. Breakfast was already prepared by the Ahimsa’s staff! Totally famished. Gobbled my delicious breakfast like a hungry monster. Villa in the day. Awww.. love the tranquility. Camwhoring in this beautiful villa. 😛 Ok. Lotsa camwhoring. I can’t help it! It’s not everyday that I get to lodge in such a beautiful place. Walkway to the lobby One last camwhoring picture? Outside the resort Heading out! Explored the hotel beside the Ahimsa Beach. Interesting monument Headed to the beach. Enhanced the colour slightly and it turned into this. Whoa… I came back later in the evening to this. It was a little surprise from the resort (as part of its honeymoon package). Can I bring this home? BBQ Lunch in the resort! I love my life! And a “live band” to go with the wonderful lunch. How good can this get?? A clarification. The ‘live band’ was not part of the package. I think it was 40USD per hour. The rates are available at the concierge and it’s based on availability of the musicians. I went to the shopping and entertainment spots nearby and it wasn’t that fantastic. I would suggest going all the way out of the Jimbaran area for entertainment (e.g. Rock Bar) or just stay in the hotel (It’s good enough. :P) For further information on the resort and its rates, you may consult their website at www.theahimsa.com . Here’s a little hint to my next travel review. As if it’s not obvious enough! Till next time! Love, Juliana #travel #resorts #ahimsabeach #beautifulvillas #bali #travelreview
