- Honeyz Beauty Review: Sara Shantelle Head CPR
Resurrect your crowning glory with Sara Shantelle’s Head CPR! Remember this from my previous blog post? No. I wasn’t trying to act like a nutcase. In fact, I’m trying to prevent myself from becoming one by using what I deem the best stress reliever of the decade! Yes. Your stress buster and answer to all your hair woes will finally be revealed in this post. 🙂 Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this little teaser I put together and hopefully, you’re already intrigued by what that sleek bottle (in the image) can do for you. 😛 Question of the day: Do you lead a very hectic lifestyle? I do. At this juncture, I’m juggling my daytime work, my blog and its photoshoot direction (this means scheduling, styling, posing, liaising, etc.), Japanese Language studies, B school applications…. Well, you get the picture. Sometimes the innumerable responsibilities and tasks can cause enormous stress, physically and mentally, on me. And this may lead to fatique, regular headaches, hair loss and even an imbalanced pH. As they always say “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.” I use the following remedies to curb the problem. 1) Drink peppermint tea 2) Apply medicated oil. 3) And get a good massage. (Sorry. No pictures to illustrate that. 😛 ) It is vital to get your stress under control because one of the obvious signs of prolonged stress is hair loss! (I don’t think you want that.) When that happens, you know you’re working too hard and taking things to the extreme. This may be an opportune time to pull back and rethink your priorities i.e. restoring your health. Besides the few remedies mentioned above, I also try to get adequate sleep and exercise more regularly. I read that physical activities encourages better blood circulation, including for our scalp. But! The positive effects of these activities may only be visible after some time. So what do I do in the meantime to feel better? I use this! Tada! SaraShantelle’s Head CPR! This was given to me by a colleague and I loved it so much that I decided to review it. I’ve tried other SaraShantelle products before such as the Miracle Anti-Acne Cooling Mask and I loved it to bits. You know how paper sheet masks tend to fall off the face after a short while? Well, this baby was clinging to my face for dear life, even when I was sitting up, for a full 30 minutes. I loved the smell and feel of the menthol which produced this cooling effect. My face felt extremely smooth and supple after use. Pretty amazing stuff. Alright, enough of the blathering. 😛 So when I was given a bottle of SaraShantelle’s Head CPR, of course I was exhilarated and couldn’t wait to try it! Here’s how you use it. Apply the hair tonic by pressing its dispenser nozzle on your scalp like this. Then massage the product into your scalp for three whole minutes. Yup. It’s that easy. Here’s my review. It’s a Number one, indeed. After application, I felt this cooling sensation on my head and I felt refreshed almost immediately and the feeling lingered on for the next hour or so. This is pretty different from many other hair tonics that I’ve tried before, where the effect wears off after a mere five minutes. The label also claims that it helps to reduce headaches and improve blood circulation. And that’s totally accurate. After a night of boozing (as you can see from the photos above), I was suffering from the various symptoms of a hangover, including a bad headache and nauseousness the following morning. So I applied the product to my head. ( I think I sprayed it on my head at least five times.) And voila! The headache went away after 15 minutes. Usually, I’ll have to consume analgesic drugs to get rid of acute headaches, so I was definitely impressed with its effectiveness in alleviating the exasperating headache so quickly. So ten big fat thumbs up to Head CPR! Well, I guess that justified the claim too. 🙂 I think the real ‘magic’ lies in its dispenser nozzle. The bristles of the nozzle gently massaged my scalp when I pressed it on my head. Don’t worry, the bristles will not hurt your head as they are very blunt, in fact, when you apply pressure, they bend slightly and the cooling liquid oozes out of the nozzle onto your scalp creating this soothing and minty sensation. I know.. heavenly! The liquid formula also has a nice smelling fragrance to it. Yes, you’ve guessed it. A strong peppermint smell which I absolutely adore. These days, I use this every night before I go to bed and I swear that my insomnia is almost cured. I’m sleeping much earlier than before. 🙂 I also love the sleek and lanky design which makes packing for traveling much easier. I’ll usually slip it into the sides of the suitcase. I guess the downer is its 330ml volume. It does not come in smaller sizes. So I’ll always have to check it in. No Head CPR on flights. 🙁 Despite all the positive comments I have for this product, you wouldn’t believe that I was apprehensive about using it at first as I’ve never used anything that do not retail at departmental stores or drugstores due to health and hygiene reasons. Then my colleague assured me that the product is safe and has been certified by HSA. This means that the ingredients were tested and have been proven to be safe enough for use. Alright. All doubts removed. So I decided to let my stressed-out Daddy try out the product too. And he liked it! Ok he loved it! Since Christmas is just around the corner, I guess this makes a perfect Christmas gift for Daddy and Mummy. 🙂 It retails at SGD 79. Well, value trumps price everytime for me. It’s a great relaxant and it prevents a thinning mane. Besides, most good hair tonics cost more than a hundred bucks so I thought that’s a pretty reasonable price. The only downside to this product is that Sarashantelle do not carry this in smaller quantities like a 100ml or 200ml bottle which will be really easy to carry around. All in all, I think it deserves 4.5 Honeyz crowns. Finally, I’m going to serve the dessert of this post! Tips on preventing hair loss Sources: http://naturalremediesproduct.com/HairLoss and http://www.askmen.com/sports/foodcourt_200/245b_foods-that-prevent-hair-loss.html Don’t subject your hair to frequent, constant heating and drying procedures. Heat weakens hair proteins, no matter the gimmicks promising softness and shine, and constant heating and drying can lead to brittleness and fragility that causes hair loss that would not have occurred otherwise. Minimize the usage of hair dryers, hot curlers, hot brushes, hair straighteners, hair fasteners, and chemical treatments and your hair will last longer. And watch where you put those heated tools; burned scalps can permanently damage hair follicles! Ultimately, natural drying is best for you hair, so aim to dry it naturally more often than drying it with heat. Slow down on the dyeing. Never color your hair more often than 6 to 8 weeks and try for semi-coverage rather than full dyeing. When it comes to going gray, it’s a lot kinder to your hair to let it turn gray than to dye it. While there are a lot of well-meaning comments about not needing to look older than you are, this ageist “beauty before health” slant overlooks the value of having your hair at all! Be careful how you style your hair. Some styles that require tight pulling and elastics, clips, etc. can be a cause of hair loss if done on a daily basis. For example, tight ponytails, braiding tightly, corn-rows, and plaits, can lead to significant hair loss when done daily. Winding hair tightly onto rollers, especially heated rollers, is also liable to cause more hair loss. The medical name for loss of hair due to hairstyles that are too tight is known as “traction alopecia” and it is completely preventable as a cause in and of itself! Hair is primarily made of protein and, therefore, it makes sense to eat a protein-rich diet if you’re trying to maintain your healthy hair. However, eating a steak every day isn’t going to help you. Stick to leaner proteins such as fish (which has a myriad of health benefits beyond just maintaining your hair), chicken, calf’s liver, brewer’s yeast, low-fat cheese, eggs, almonds, beans, and yogurt. Soy milk and tofu are also smart to add to your diet because they are high in protein and low in bad fats. Just as your overall health will benefit from eating a balanced diet, so too should the health of your hair. Once it’s gone, it’s gone, so don’t put foods in your body that speed up hair loss. You may be experiencing a thinning on top already, but you can counteract this (or at least slow it down) by eating from every food group daily — concentrating on foods that are rich in protein, iron, silica, and zinc. Thanks belles for reading. I’ll talk to you very soon. Your friend, Juliana Disclaimer: Do keep in mind that reviews are entirely subjective. - Bifesta Bloggers Party
Cupcakes anyone? Two weeks ago, I attended Bifesta’s Product Launch in my capacity as a review blogger. Man was I excited! It was a ‘Bloggers Party’ organized by the renowned Japanese cosmetics brand, Bifesta. Here’s a brief background of this incredible brand. Bifesta was previously known as ‘Cleansing Express’ and it is owned by Beauty Care behemoth, Mandom (they created Gatsby). They are best known as Japan’s first water-based makeup remover brand. Here’s their star product. “BI” means 美 or Beauty in Japanese while “FESTA” is an abbreviation of Festival. Together, BIFESTA means Beauty Festival, a celebration of beauty where beautiful skin can be achieved quickly, easily and joyfully with effective, fuss-free makeup removal. So here I am. All ready for my first blogger event! Upon arrival, I was greeted by a delicious spread of popiah, crabsticks, eclairs and…. Cupcakes! Cupcakes by ‘Kiss Me Heroine Make’. Moving on from the cupcakes galore, I saw a familiar face. The man who popularized the Gatsby brand with his killer looks – Takuya Kimura. Sexaaay…. Spotted! The wide range of beauty products… And then I got distracted by the scenery. I love skyscraper views… Ok sorry! Focus! The newly launched products. Notice the two cute bright colored(pink and orange) bottles? They are Lucidol’s latest hair products known as hair supplements. (The bottles are in the shape of a medicine tablet! Uber cute!) The pink one is for straight hair while the orange is for permed hair. I was given the pink bottle to try. It prevents tangles and helps maintain straight, silky and smooth hair. If I don’t perm my hair anytime now, I should be able to do a review on this baby soon. 😛 There were many exciting products such as mascaras, eyeliners, hair supplements, cleansing oil, etc. I also made new friends with fellow bloggers, fellow hot bloggers to be exact. I’ve pictures to prove it! Emilia Priscilla Me, Irene and Kimberly . Hot new friends! 😀 Moving on to workshop proper… We were presented with the ‘Kiss Me Heroine Make’ cosmetics series from Mandom. Yes. The face on the cupcake was that of the mascot’s. Then we were introduced to Heroine Make’s key make up artists, Ms Sayuri Igarashi and Ms Sayaka Kondo who flew here all the way from Japan! *honored* I didn’t realize that Kondo San was looking directly at my camera after I saw this picture. Anyway, very alluring eyes. I bet it’s Heroine Make mascara working its magic. During the session, Igarashi san shared many useful tips on the best ways to use Heroine Make’s make up as well as the latest trends in Japan’s make up world. Igarashi san looking all proud of her products. 😀 We were also treated to a goodie bag of Bifesta products, including Heroine Make’s best sellers. During the presentation, Igarashi san emphasized the importance of applying mascara while looking at a slanted mirror (see below). She claimed that this would make application much easier. On the other hand, Kondo san was doing a makeover with Heroine’s cosmetics on some of the pretty bloggers, including Zoe Raymond. During the demonstration, we were also given products to try. One of them is the Proof Eye tape, which creates double eyelids. I’ve never tried double eyelid tapes before so I had a hard time placing them on my eyelids. 🙁 Soon I gave up and started playing with it. I pulled it (See picture below) and realized that it’s extremely elastic! Then we were told that this is an elastic, fiber-like tape that is flexible enough to follow the curve and contours of our eyelids. Fantastic product I must say. Then the event culminated with an “Award Show”. The Mandom Singapore office staff gave their Japanese counterparts Barbequed Pork (Bak Kwa) as an appreciation gift for their fantastic presentation. These were all the freebies I received that day. I’m most interested in this product – Eyelash Serum. The product contains a concentrated oil-rich formula that makes eyelashes fuller and healthier. This is the current state of my lashes. It is pretty sparse. So hopefully, the eyelash serum will improve its condition. I’ll review the outcome later! If you would also like to try out Bifesta’s amazing products, you can now do so by simply filling in your particulars in Bifesta’s Facebook Page and you’ll be entitled to a generous 30ml free sample of their cleansing lotion sebum. The password to redeem is Honeyz. In the meantime, have some cupcakes! Your friend, Juliana #beauty #bifesta #BloggerEvent #cosmetics
- The Latest Nail Sensation, Dashing Diva, Has Hit Our Sunny Singapore Shores!
Advertorial Make a BIG fashion statement this season with Dashing Diva! Yes, you heard me right. The American nail sensation is back in town! And this time they are back with a bigger bang with their latest Metallic Design Nails on the Go (aka Metallic Nails). What? You’ve never heard of Dashing Diva? You ought to shoot yourself in the head! Ok. I was obviously kidding. Dashing Diva was first introduced in the heart of New York City’s Greenwich Village in 2003 and since then, it has captured the hearts of many including Hollywood celebs Beyonce, Katy Perry and Chrisette Michele (whom featured Dashing Diva’s Metallic Nails in her music video, “Goodbye Game.”) with their unprecedented levels of sterilization and their inventive menu of products and services that are also exclusive to Dashing Diva salons worldwide. Just thought you might be interested to see Dashing Diva’s Metallic Nails in action. Here’s Chrisette Michele’s “Goodbye Game”. Dashing Diva’s Metallic Nails are to die for. It is a revolutionary new product that hides the imperfections of your nail bed whilst creating the illusion of longer nails with a trendy twist in its design. So can you imagine my reaction when Dashing Diva Singapore first approached me to endorse their products on my blog? I was like… Alright, I totally exaggerated there but I was really thrilled! Here I am at one of Dashing Diva’s nail salons, Periwinkle. I invited JW too! The lady boss who owns the Dashing Diva Singapore line spoke with much enthusiasm when she shared the background of Dashing Diva and its wide range of nail colors and treatments. During which, she got me all excited too and I was busy taking down notes. Well, she certainly has an admirable fervor for the brand and its products. 🙂 Anyway, here are some juicy colors to tempt you further. Here comes the star of the post – Dashing Diva’s Metallic Nails. You bet, I was caught in a whirlwind of choices. Just look at them! One word – GORGEOUS. I’ve always had a penchant for leopard prints so this was definitely my ultimate choice. Metallic Nails – Can’t Change my Spots The application is pretty simple. Step 1: File nails and apply nail softener to push cuticles. Step 2: Apply cleaning agent to cleanse nails thoroughly. Then slather on the Dashing Diva Skin Guard to prevent glue from having a direct contact with your skin. All ready for my Diva Revamp! Step 3: Apply glue to metallic nails and proceed to stick them on nail bed. Step 5: File and apply cuticle oil and finish off by applying the cleaning agent again. And then you’re done! JW is wearing Zoomanity while I’m wearing Can’t change my spots! I love my new nails! They are a redolent of wildness, classiness and DIVA-NESS! Alright, enough of the gushing. I’ll let Dashing Diva’s Metallic Nails take center stage. Ain’t the nails pretty??? They last up to seven days. During the seven days, I received many compliments from friends and strangers on my Dashing Diva nails. I’ve never gotten this much attention for my manicure, not even when I’m wearing nail polish from the nail incumbents. Three cheers to Dashing Diva! They are really easy to remove too. Simply soak them off with pure acetone. 🙂 Well belles, if you’re thinking of getting your diva fix too, you can now do so at these nail salons. There are only 10 nail salons in Singapore that carry Dashing Diva’s products. (Pretty pathetic number I know.) To rub salt into our wounds, these salons are only available in the central and west area. (!!!!!!) I live in the East and so I’m one of those who are desiccated from the lack of options. So if you’re a nail salon owner or a budding entrepreneur who wants to start a nail business, I greatly encourage you to join the Dashing Diva bandwagon. Well, it’s not solely because I need more Dashing Diva salons to satisfy me but the truth is Dashing Diva’s products not only score in the aesthetics department but also in the usability insofar as that the procedures of the application and removal of the stick-ons are simple, short and fuss-free. I’m confident that the Dashing Diva line is going to surpass many other brands in the market so come on! Do us consumers a favor! We want more Dashing Diva around the island! 😀 I mean, look at their pretty Metallic Nails! I know I’ve emphasized ‘pretty nails’ 20 bagazillion times already but don’t you agree that they are irresistibly pretty?! If you’re interested to carry the Dashing Diva products or would like to find out more about the brand, please contact Dashing Diva Singapore at +65 9679 1234 or email them at sales@fratelli.sg You may also visit the Dashing Diva Singapore Facebook Page for further information. Webster defined ‘dashing’ as being marked by smartness especially in dress and manners and ‘diva’ as being a glamorous and successful female performer or personality. - Fashion Review: LOEF’s Dart Detail Work Dress (Green) and Bandage Skirt (Orange)
With Lilies of e Field, I’ll always be on the forefront of fashion. Dart Detail Work Dress in Green As seen on LOEF Afterthoughts… I’m so in love with this dress in particular its bold turquoise color. (It’s probably closer to green.) The color of the dress is true to the pictures on LOEF’s website. I like that the dress gives me a nice hourglass silhouette. The cap sleeves also gives an illusion of broader shoulders which I greatly appreciate as I have really small shoulders. In addition, the dress hides my bulging tummy well. Even though the panty line is not that obvious while standing but I still recommend that you wear seamless underwear so that it’s totally invisible when you bend or sit down. The workmanship and material measures up to the standard of its design. No loose threads were found and the material feels thick and durable. My friends commented that the good quality of the material makes the dress look like those of up-market brands. All in all, I would give this 4.5 Honeyz crowns. It’s comfortable and yet professional enough to wear to the office. It’s great value for money! Bandage Skirt in Orange As seen on LOEF Afterthoughts… Add a splash of colour to any dull looking outfit with this skirt and you create a mild avant-garde fashion look. The bandage feature is reminiscent of a Herve Leger dress. My fashion mantra is chic and yet inexpensive and this skirt fits the bill perfectly! The material of the skirt is really smooth at the back so a seamless underwear is recommended. Material is thick and workmanship is of top-notch quality. The length is just right for my frame. However, the skirt has a slight tendency to ride up. All in all, I think this is a great skirt for weekend shopping and party nights. Not ideal for the workplace, unless you’re in the creative or fashion line. 4 Honeyz crowns! Model Get a glimpse behind the scenes of our Phuket photoshoot on our Honeyz’s Facebook Page . Meanwhile, have a great weekend and I’ll talk to you soon. 🙂 Your friend, Juliana Disclaimer: I know I’m going to sound like a broken record but I would like to emphasize again that Honeyz fashion reviews are NOT advertorial posts. I do not endorse any of those brands featured. Rather, I’m trying to show you how normal girls (girls with non-supermodel statures) look like in clothing from these famous boutiques. This is to aid you in making informed purchase decisions when it comes to updating your fashion wardrobe. 🙂 #fashion #Liliesofefield #Photography #fashionreview #loef

- Honeyz Beauty Review: Eucerin
Sponsored Review Do you have uncontrollable oily skin? [df_divider el_width=”100″ style=”solid” accent_color=”#EEEEEE” border_t_width=”2px” padding=”20px 0″ position=”align_center” el_class=””] Well I do. And my oily skin is the key contributor to the acne on my face. I’ve always been looking for remedies to tame my oily and acne-prone skin but to no avail. The skin is still totally out of whack. Then The Sample Store came with a rescue – Eucerin’s DermoPURIFYER range. Check these out. Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Active Concentrate (30ml SGD 29.90) Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Active Night Care (50ml SGD 25.90) Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Hydrating Care (50ml SGD 25.90) (From left to right) Active Concentrate, Active Night Care, Hydrating Care Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Active Concentrate I usually apply this after I cleanse my face with Amethystory’s mineral bubble face wash in the morning and before I sleep in the night. And before any other Eucerin products. The refreshing serum absorbs quickly, gently dissolves cornified skin with lactic acid, improves the flow of sebum, regulates the skin’s functions, refines and clarifies the appearance of the skin. The texture is very different from the hydrating care. It is more like fluid and has a nice fragrance. The fragrance is not a floral or spicy scent but more like the smell of medicine with milk. I’ve always avoided skin products that targets solely blemishes as I’m afraid that they would be too harsh on the skin which in turn causes flaking. Well, this baby produced an opposite effect. Instead, my skin feels very hydrated after use. It no longer feels uneasy and tight after wash and the zits on my face have also reduced enormously. Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Hydrating Care After applying the Active Concentrate, I would massage the Hydrating Care into the skin. According to Eucerin, this is a light, oil- and perfume-free cream gel that regulates the disrupted skin functions, providing the skin with moisture and thus giving a fresh, relaxed feel to the skin. The cream gel effectively reduces skin blemishes and prevents the formation of new ones. The result: a finer and clearer skin complexion – after only 3 weeks. Here’s a close up of it. It stated on the label that I could use this as a make up base. And so I did but the results weren’t satisfactory. My powder foundation became cakey upon application. I tried it with liquid foundation too and it was fine at first, until I pound on loose powder and the same effect occurred. So I don’t recommend this as a make up base at all. Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Active Night Care And finally, finish off your day with Active Night Care. The formula is pretty thick as shown below. The light night care with the innovative Follicle Active System provides a continual supply of lactic acid during the night and dissolves cornified skin, which promotes better flow of sebum. The refreshing cream activates the skin’s own regenerative capability. This smells exactly like the Active Concentrate. (Yay! More medicated milk! :P) Upon application, it seeps into the skin instantly. I know that because the stickiness disappears almost immediately. Overall, I find all three products pretty effective. Here’s a picture of my bare naked face after one week use. As mentioned many times, I don’t have the best complexion. I’ve always been bogged by crazy acne. So this is good enough for me. 🙂 So 4 Honeyz crowns! The Eucerin DermoPURIFYER range is available at most leading pharmacies, Guardian, Watsons, Unity, hospital retail pharmacies and the National Skin Centre. Your blemish-free skin starts from here. - Honeyz Beauty Review: Hada Labo
Sponsored Review Hada Labo Cleansing Oil – The Make Up Obliterator I put on make up whenever I go out and I usually leave the house looking like this… Picture Credits: Pearlmagik.com Ok, I was kidding. Probably something more like this… It is pretty evident that I usually put on rather thick make up. 🙂 After each exhausting day, I dread removing make up as it can be quite a chore to remove those budge-proof cosmetics. To add to the misery, I haven’t found a make up remover that can remove my make up effectively as I usually suffer mini breakouts afterwards. Well… Not until I got to know about Hada Labo’s new baby! Hada Labo Cleansing Oil with High Purity Olive Oil This was introduced to me by The Sample Store darlings. Here’s a brief background Formulated with high purity Olive Oil, Hada Labo Hydrating Cleansing Oil helps to gently remove dirt, oil and heavy makeup effortlessly. It is a 1-step makeup remover that can also remove tough, waterproof mascara and eye liner. (Really? Gotta test this out!) The 2 key ingredients are 1) High Purity Olive Oil and 2) Super Hyaluronic Acid. The Ultra Pure Olive Oil ensures high performance cleansing, and yet is very gentle with no irritation to skin. Super Hyaluronic Acid gives 2X more moisture than normal hyaluronic acid, where 1g can retain 12 litres of water, giving you refreshing smoothness after cleansing. (Remember the famous tagline of the Hada Labo Lotion ‘One drop locks up an ocean’? It contains this same ingredient too!) Here’s my personal review of the product: Not surprisingly, its texture is just like olive oil – light and greasy. The formula is mild and has neither fragrance nor colorant. Hada Labo claimed that it is able to remove tough, water-resistant mascara and eye liner. Well, I decided to verify the claim with the following experiment. My Hada Labo Effectiveness Test Here’s a make up swatch of foundation, blusher, liquid and pencil eyeliner. Squirted some Hada Labo Cleansing Oil and slathered it on my hand. Here’s a close up. Almost immediately, the make up started to smudge. I gently massaged the oil on my hand and this was the result. Pretty impressive eh? Thereafter, emulsify the oil by rinsing it with water. Here’s a little tip. Apply the cleansing oil with dry fingers onto dry face. Rub the cleansing oil over the make up. Then wet fingers and rub again to produce a light foam on the face. Thereafter, rinse it off thoroughly. I usually use several types of make up remover such as eye and lip make up remover, cleansing milk, etc. to get rid of the make up gunk on my face. This is because some make up removers are milder and are more suitable for sensitive areas. The Hada Labo Cleansing Oil is a ‘one-size-fits-all’ kind of remover in that it is gentle enough to remove make up from all parts of the face. Now removing make up is a breeze so 10 thumbs up! Another plus point – it doesn’t sting my eyes when it gets into them unlike many other brands’. (Alright it’s a MAJOR plus point.) Usually, I’ll use cotton pad with make up remover to remove the make up. This is to ensure that all traces of my make up is removed. Well, these days, I don’t have to use any because it cleanses well even without them. Yay! I can save on cotton pads and time now! 😀 Despite this, I still attempted this next experiment. I pumped some cleansing oil onto a cotton pad and tried to remove my make up with it. To be honest, this method is not that effective in removing make up as traces of foundation and mascara could still be seen on my face even after much massaging with the cotton pad. The cleansing oil was also dripping off my palms as it could not be absorbed by the cotton pad. Not an enjoyable process at all. I conclude that it is still best used with your hands! All in all, I think this is a fantastic make up remover for my oily and sensitive skin. It is non-drying, odorless and non-pore clogging. (I know that because no more mini breakouts after cleansing.) It is also really easy to remove without leaving a tight feeling on my face. This is great as it does not strip my skin of its natural oils. And the drawbacks… Sheesh! I can’t think of any! So 5 Honeyz crowns! The Hada Labo Hydrating Cleansing Oil retails exclusively at all Watsons outlets at SGD 20.90. Besides the cleansing oil, Hada Labo also has another hydrating make up remover in their range. Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Make Up Remover It contains 2 types of Hyaluronic Acid, normal and Super Hyaluronic Acid to hydrate while it cleanses. It is priced at SGD 17.90 and is easily available at Watsons, Guardian, Fairprice and other major departmental stores. If you would like to find out more about the products in the Hada Labo range, check out their Facebook page ! - Fashion Review: LOEF’s Striped Midi with Chiffon (Vermillion) and Inglese Trench Coat (Black)
Achieve sartorial splendor with Lilies of e Field! Inglese Trench Coat (Black) As seen on LOEF Afterthoughts… I think I might have jumped the gun a little bit on winter fashion when I wore this trench coat to office today. Because everyone around me were still clad in loose fitting and summery cute dresses. Well, it started raining cats and dogs (Singapore’s equivalent to winter) in the afternoon, so that made me feel less out of place after that. Nonetheless, I think this is an extremely elegant and classy piece. If you’d noticed, I’m really into eye-poping colors lately and have been experimenting extensively with color-blocking fashion. So getting this full black trench coat is like going back a notch for me, in a good way as it displays a kind of ‘subtle glamour’. I’ve paired this with a dress in the photos but you can also wear it with a pair of worn-out shorts and casual tank top like Fashiontoast’s Rumi Neely. Credits to Fashiontoast.com The material is thin, soft and sheer. It wrinkles rather easily too. But that’s not a huge deal to me because it looks good wrinkled too. The material might be a tad bit too soft because the sleeves wouldn’t stay folded and they exposed unsightly seams. Pretty untidy looking. The workmanship is shoddy too as several loose threads were sighted. All in all, I would give this 3.5 Honeyz crowns. It could have been better with tidier and manageable sleeves and quality workmanship. Striped Midi w/ Chiffon T/O (Vermillion) As seen on LOEF Afterthoughts… How do I describe this dress? One price for two looks. Wear it with the chiffon top-overlay for a fresh, conservative girl-next-door look. (Every guy’s favorite!) OR remove the top-overlay to shake things up a little bit for an edgier style. There’s an elastic waist band that shapes a blouson bodice. This is great as the contrast striped skirt is pretty tight and may reveal bulgy tummy if you view it from the side. The stripes are also perfect as they distract people from looking at the contour of the tummy. (An illusion of a flat tummy is always key!) The top has a rather low neckline and the material is slightly sheer so a tube top is highly recommended. The chiffon top-overlay feels slightly rough but not uncomfortable to wear. The color of the dress is true to the pictures on LOEF’s website. Yes, the red is rather bright. Overall, I would give this 4 Honeyz crowns. It is perfect for the weekend shopping, beach getaway and clubbing nights. (It’s probably too hot for first dates.) Models Jul JW Cheerio! - Fashion Review: Corporate Lookbook
Once again, raising the style bar with Corporate Lookbook. Hey my stylish femmes! How are you doing on this Halloween weekend? Well, I had a blast playing Halloween dress up at a friend’s Halloween Housewarming party… It’s not hard to guess what I was dressed as. … and a hell of a time “confronting my fears” at Halloween attraction – FrightFest@Singapore Flyer. I hope you had fun too! Shoving Halloween aside, how are you doing on your fashion resume lately? I’ve been updating my wardrobe with lots of classy business casual apparels since I’m in the office almost 50 hours a week. You see, I strongly believe that a Honeyz girl should know how to look elegant and stylish even while dealing with onerous demands at the office. Well, the perennial question is – where do we go to buy affordable and fashionable office clothing? The answer to that? Corporate Looklook! Miriam Pleated Dress (Peach) As seen on Corporate Lookbook Our Version Afterthoughts… I love the pleats and the striking color of this dress! It certainly makes one stand out from the world of black and white suits while keeping the silhouettes simple. I’m especially impressed with the quality of this dress. The material felt thick and stiff, but not to worry, it does not feel comfortable at all. Actually, it feels like I’m wearing paper because it crumples like one when I sit down. It does not wrinkle because of that though so ten thumbs up to that! Who says we can’t be conservative and stylish at the same time? The 32″ length and the high neckline is ideal for the workplace. I don’t think anyone wants to see their male colleagues gaping at their over-exposed bust or legs at the workplace. The workmanship is pretty exquisite too. Seriously, I can easily give this 5 Honeyz crowns for its over the top quality and design. Genet Ruffled Dress (Mustard) As seen on Corporate Lookbook Our Version Afterthoughts… This is an absolute fuss-free modish dress that is great for after-work parties too. (A hot favorite for lazy bones like me.) The design and cutting is perfect for my frame and the lustrous ruffles hides the less-endowed figure well. However, the elastic band at the waist is slightly tight for me so I think it may not be too comfortable to wear for UK8 and up. Material and workmanship is of top notch quality. The chiffon is accompanied with inner lining so it is not sheer at all. Besides the workplace, it is also great for frolicking on the beach! (Pretty evident from the photos.) 4.5 Honeyz crowns! Taryn Flower Printed Dress As seen on Coporate Lookbook Our Version Afterthoughts… Pump up your office style quotient with floral prints! Tack on a blazer in the morning for a serious look and embellish it with accessories and belts for the cocktails after work! The material and workmanship is pretty decent. Here’s the downer. The inner lining is pretty short. It’s a hassle because the outer fabric is extremely sheer. The neckline is also pretty low and sides are wide, so a tube top is recommended. All in all, I think this is a great lazy dress that exudes the right amount of femininity and style. 4 Honeyz crowns! Models Location L’esprit De Naiyang, Phuket, Thailand Thanks belles for reading.
