I squirt a dollop of it onto my hand and it immediately dripped down my hand. After one second… To be honest, I’m not a regular user of feminine wash. I mostly use it during my menstrual days or when I’m sent a free sample . However, these days I realize regular soap burns and irritates my skin easily. So the arrival of Lactacyd was timely. I could feel the difference after the first use. The burning sensation was gone and my skin no longer felt tight after wash. The feminine wash left a soft and hydrated feeling. The scent of the wash is fresh and clean with subtle floral undertones. Afterthoughts… The texture of this wash is like that of the Lactacyd White Intimate – light and drippy. During and after the ‘red days’, my v-zone feels dry and uncomfortable. So a feminine wash that moisturizes and deodorizes is definitely a godsend. It prevents my skin from becoming too dry and pruny. The scent of the Lactacyd Revitalize is less strong and heavenly than that of the Lactacyd White Intimate. During wash, it creates a mild and harmless tingling sensation on the skin. I was pretty surprised by it as the White Intimate felt like a regular soap. Nonetheless, the wash made me feel clean, refreshed and rejuvenated. 🙂 To enjoy the benefits of both washes, I’ll suggest you use them interchangeably to achieve both fair and smooth skin. In all, it is a great product that has become an integral part of my beauty regime. 3.5 Honeyz crowns! Did you know that if you tell Universal Studios it’s your birthday… you basically become royalty? Last month, my husband secretly planned a birthday staycation and a surprise trip to USS and I had zero idea what was coming. Turns out, if the characters know it’s your birthday, the Minions sing to you and everyone hugs you like you’re the main character (because, obviously, you are hehe). 💛 Who knew being a year older came with theme park superpowers? 🦸‍♀️🎂 Well… except Megatron. He took one look at me and said: “I don’t care that it’s your birthday.” The villain arc was strong…. and hilarious. Lol! Keep scrolling to see the very magical, slightly chaotic, and totally unforgettable day. ✨ I’m about to say something that might be a little controversial… I actually did enjoy my birthday at USS a lot. I really didn’t expect to. Back in March, we went to Disneyland to celebrate Bobby’s birthday, and I have to admit, there was a part of me that felt quietly jealous watching him get all the special treatment - all the characters wishing him happy birthday, all the little moments of magic just for him. I thought going to USS for my own birthday would feel like a smaller version of that, something less special somehow. But I was so wrong. Not only did the cast members wish me happy birthday, they went out of their way to sing and dance for me too. It was unexpectedly heartwarming. Psst! A full-length vlog coming soon! And here’s the part I never thought I’d say - I think this might have been even better than Disneyland. Maybe because I went in with no expectations, or maybe because it just felt so genuine. Advertorial I’ve been enjoying my wedding planning status to the fullest with innumerable photoshoots for my Secret Garden Fairytale themed nuptials. Since the photos are the most significant memorabilia of the wedding which are usually displayed for a lifetime AND probably shown to future generations, I need to make sure that they’re perfect! 😀 So I’ve been trying to keep myself in a tip-top condition from head to toe for the past three months with a healthy diet, nail treatments and hair dye jobs – which is of course not the best for my scalp. Yup, I’ve had two dye jobs within two months. Oh, how my poor mane and scalp have suffered for the sake of art and vanity. The condition is now utterly deplorable with dry skin flaking off the scalp after every hair wash. Eek! Since I’ve another wedding photoshoot coming up, I need to make sure I revert hair-tastrophe back to hair-bulous! And so I visited the celebrated hair treatment expert, Yun Nam Hair Care . 🙂 Read on to find out if Yun Nam was able to restore my scalp to its former regal state! I visited one of Yun Nam’s biggest branches at Plaza Singapura. It is located conveniently beside the entrance to the carpark on the second floor. The salon interior eminates a vibrant positive energy as their signature orange hue bursts from every corner. 😀 Before we began, I was introduced to Michelle, the branch manager of Yun Nam Hair Care who walked me through the entire scalp treatment process with drawings and visuals. I was also asked to fill in a hair loss analysis form on which I had to declare any medical problems. And now it’s time to extract the culprits of my unhealthy scalp. I receive a detailed microscopic analysis of my scalp to diagnose its current problems. Not a good sight. See the white stuff around the roots? Those are dandruff. Here’s how it looks with the naked eye. Saw the flakes? Michelle concluded that the dandruff problem is still in its early stages so she suggested a deep cleansing routine to detox the scalp of dandruff and crud. It also restores the health of the scalp and prevent hair loss problems. Now let’s get started! But first, let me take a snack break, courtesy of Yun Nam Hair Care! 😛 This is Zoe who took over from Michelle for the first part of my treatment. Zoe explained that to allow the treatment and herbs to penetrate into the scalp and hair better, she’ll have to give my hair a light wash to remove excess oil and dirt. Here we go! She also added a specially formulated herbal lotion that is fortified with nutrients to nourish and revitalise the hair. Here’s the shampoo and conditioner that Zoe used on my hair. The products are infused with natural herbs to replenish lost nutrients in hair and revive their lustre. Herbalogy Ginseng Shampoo Their conditioner also contains anti-oxidants to protect the hair from environmental damage. Refreshing Apple Conditioner At this point, I thought I smelled like a huge Ginseng root as the shampoo was mainly made up of Ginseng extracts. Don’t get me wrong. It’s definitely not a bad thing. In fact, the aroma of Ginseng was very indulging and made me feel absolutely relaxed. Later, Zoe rinsed the bubbles away to make way for the ultimate herbal treatment to unclog and repair damaged hair follicles, stimulate new hair growth and eradicate the dandruff once and for all! Here’s my herbal treatment that’s enriched with premium chinese herbs and their trademark dandruff paste for a thorough cleansing routine. Dandruff paste Now Zoe spreads the cocktail of goodness on my scalp. And guess what? I went from smelling like Ginseng to a bowl of black sesame paste. In case you’re wondering, black sesame paste is a popular Chinese dessert. Yummeh! Then Zoe wrapped my hair with a plastic shower cap and placed a steamer hood over it to seal in the nutrients. After 30 minutes, Michelle returned to finish the second half of my treatment. She rubbed my scalp lightly to reveal the white flakes that had been lurking in the roots. According to her, the colouring jobs must have dried my scalp and induced dandruff. Eek! Save me, Michelle! My Scalp Heroine, Michelle came to by rescue with a bottle of nutritional herbal lotion and applied the “dandruff antidote” on my head before washing the hair with more ginseng shampoo. Woo hoo! Michelle finished the treatment by applying a protein lotion to strengthen the strands and a hair tonic with Ginseng essence to eliminate itchiness, dandruff and to balance pH in hair naturally. This is important as our hair and scalp oil, sebum, has a pH balance of between 4.5 and 5.5. This natural hair acidity prevents fungi and bacteria in the hair and scalp, and keeps the cuticle closed and healthy. The tonic produced a cooling sensation that was absolutely rejuvenating. Then Michelle cleansed my hair a final time before and blow drying it. And we’re done! Here’s the close-up! The results were astonishing! For better results, I’ll probably need another 5 to 10 treatments to soothe the scalp further and prevent the dandruff from returning. Well, I’ll probably come back for more treatments next month. Speaking of power women, I first met Medusa as a little girl watching Clash of the Titans .  Back then, she terrified me, a monster who turned people to stone. But years later, after hearing a line from Lessons in Chemistry (a TV show on Apple TV+) , I saw her in a completely different light. Lewis Pullman’s character said he reread Great Expectations  many times. When Brie Larson’s character asked why, he replied: “The book stays the same, but you don’t.” That line hit me hard. The story of Medusa hadn’t changed - I  had. Rewatching Clash of the Titans  as an adult, I didn’t see a villain anymore. I saw a woman punished for something she never deserved. Assaulted by Poseidon in Athena’s temple and then cursed by the very goddess she served. Turned into a “monster.” Banished. Misunderstood. But maybe her curse was also her protection, a power to ensure no one could ever hurt her again. Despite the trauma, the exile, and the blame, Medusa remained unbroken. She stood her ground, even when the world called her a monster. So turning her into a modern-day girl boss felt right because strength, even born from pain, is still power. I know this was supposed to be a fun Halloween post, but Medusa’s story hit me harder than expected, a reminder that resilience is beautiful, and that even “monsters” can be misunderstood heroes. Highlights for me: 🦪 Japanese Oysters with Yuzu Condiment (I don’t usually eat oysters, but these were so fresh and bright they had me wanting seconds… and yes, I ordered them again on Saturday 😋). 🍳 Truffle Soufflé Omelette with Beef Stew (Still can’t get over how flufffyyyyyy it is.) 🐟 Smoked Trout with Ikura – light, refreshing, and officially on my repeat-order list. And the drinks? Absolute stars. 🍸 Pulsii now offers 11 reimagined classics from $20, like Le Coco Club and The Hot One (their fiery margarita twist 🌶). My top pick: Chef Mugi’s Mischief, inspired by the chef’s beloved dog, with part of the proceeds going to Action for Singapore Dogs to support animal welfare. 🐾 Need another reason to go? Wednesdays are Ladies’ Night which means wo hours of free-flow from 6 to 9pm at $38 (house wines, beer, selected cocktails + sake). Men can join the fun too at $48. The ambience, the food, the cocktails, the company… everything pulsed with joy (pun intended 🤭). Safe to say, I’ll definitely  be back again.
