Beauty Review: Mentholatum Lip Gel

Sponsored Review

Infused with nourishing vitamins and nutritional supplements, Mentholatum’s latest Medicated Lip Gels are all set to rock the beauty world!

Say goodbye to lip creases! If you asked me to choose between lip balm or lip gel, I’ll affirmatively say lip gel – for its plumping effect and extra shine.

So imagine my excitement when beauty care behemoth, Mentholatum announced the release of their new Medicated Lip Gel Series which are specially formulated to reduce the appearance of fine lines on lips. They achieve this with a unique gel formulation that penetrates the crevices of the lips.

These new lip gels are also injected with vitamins and supplements to provide a longer lasting moisturizing effect.

Psst!

This new range has been voted one of the best lip salves in the market by Fashion Guide!

Here’s what I think…

Before I begin, check out the glassy shine created by the lip gel!

Besides hiding unsightly perioral wrinkles with its shiny gloss, the lip gel also nourishes them at the same time.

I’m all for dual functionalities and the high-shine glossy lips look so a huge thumbs up for this brand new gel series.

Do you use lipsticks?

I do and they often dry out my lips making them look somewhat flaky and chapped. So I’ll always dab a layer of lip balm before applying lipstick on my lips. This protects my lips from the harmful chemicals of the lipstick and also gives them a radiant shine.

I applied the Medicated Hyaluronic Lip Gel before I wore my lip stick and I thought the lipstick glided on more smoothly and evenly.

Beauty Tip! To enhance the lip color and give it an extra glow, finish off the luscious look with another layer of lip gel.

The lipstick I used in the demonstration is Yves Saint Laurent’s ROUGE VOLUPTÉ – Silky Sensual Radiant Lipstick SPF 15 in #30 Faubourg Peach.

All three lip gels are colorless and lightweight and functions like translucent lip gloss. The difference lies in their ingredients and scent.

Medicated Vitamin Lip Gel gives off a refreshing minty smell while the Medicated Hyaluronic Lip Gel has a lemony scent. If you prefer odorless and tasteless lip gels, then the Medicated Q10 and Ceramide Lip Gel is your ideal choice.

Overall, great lip gels that can be worn alone, under or over lipstick. They also stay on for hours for maximum moisturization.

Stop the onset of lip wrinkles!

Lip wrinkles tend to make a person look older than their actual age. Even though it is not a fallacy to think that these lip gels are great treatments to reduce the visibility of those nasty lines, it is always better to prevent than cure. Here are some precautionary measures:

  1. Try not to drink directly from a bottle as you tend to pucker your mouth and lips and this causes wrinkles in the long term.

  2. Avoid threading and upper lip waxing as this pulls the skin loose.

  3. Drink lots of water to keep yourself hydrated.

  4. Stop smoking – to avoid puckered lips and other side effects on skin.

  5. Exfoliate lips regularly.

That’s all for this edition of Honeyz Beauty Review. Let me know if you have other tips to add to this list!

Happy Sunday!

Your friend, Juliana
