A Day in the Life of Modern Medusa šš
They say Medusa turned men to stone, but in 2025, sheās turning meetings, emails, and deadlines into power moves.
From sipping her morning coffee to checking her calendar and running her business empire (snake crown and all), this modern-day Medusa proves that a myth can evolve and still have it all.

Hope you enjoyed my little re-imagination of Medusa as a modern power woman!

The Inspiration Behind the Look š
This look wouldnāt be complete without so many talented people. Yoga top and white skirt by Jovet and hair magic by Shunji Matsuo.
Speaking of power women, I first met Medusa as a little girl watching Clash of the Titans.Ā Back then, she terrified me, a monster who turned people to stone.
But years later, after hearing a line from Lessons in Chemistry (a TV show on Apple TV+), I saw her in a completely different light.
Lewis Pullmanās character said he reread Great ExpectationsĀ many times. When Brie Larsonās character asked why, he replied:
āThe book stays the same, but you donāt.ā
That line hit me hard. The story of Medusa hadnāt changed - IĀ had.
Rewatching Clash of the TitansĀ as an adult, I didnāt see a villain anymore. I saw a woman punished for something she never deserved. Assaulted by Poseidon in Athenaās temple and then cursed by the very goddess she served. Turned into a āmonster.ā Banished. Misunderstood.
But maybe her curse was also her protection, a power to ensure no one could ever hurt her again.
Despite the trauma, the exile, and the blame, Medusa remained unbroken. She stood her ground, even when the world called her a monster.
So turning her into a modern-day girl boss felt right because strength, even born from pain, is still power.
I know this was supposed to be a fun Halloween post, but Medusaās story hit me harder than expected, a reminder that resilience is beautiful, and that even āmonstersā can be misunderstood heroes.
This Halloween, Iām channelling my inner Medusa. šāØ More spooky (and empowering) content coming soon. Stay tuned!

Juliana
