Fellow #OOTD addicts, doesn’t everyday feel like a fashion show? If you share the same sentiments, you probably also agree that Orchard Road has always felt like a runway for us to strut our stuff on. 😛 Well, now more so than ever as Orchard Road was transformed into a real-life high fashion catwalk last weekend for the annual Fashion Steps Out Runway Show. Do you know it is also one of Singapore’s largest and longest outdoor fashion shows? Yup. It’s pretty much like a fashion parade.Every year, the fashion event celebrates the Spring/Summer fashion season with local and international brands and this year’s line up included FOX Kids & Baby, Raffles Privato, SEAN & SHEILA, Thomas Wee, UNIQLO LifeWear, PHANTACi (Psst! Jay Chou’s clothing line) and many more. I must say, last weekend’s runway show was executed in the most spectacular way starting with an extravagant pre-show reception catered by PAUL, then a 550m long runway graced by more than 180 models and performers during the fashion show itself. Talk about a grand affair! Why I’m not surprised is because this year’s Fashion Steps Out event was managed by renowned fashion aficionado, Daniel Boey who graciously lent his expertise as a show producer for the curtain raiser and main event. “Today I am the youngest I’ll ever be, and the oldest I’ve ever been.” After 365 unbirthdays (considering it’s a leap year), it’s finally my birthday again! “All I need are palm trees and a little bit of paradise.” There will be times when you feel a little worn down or even uninspired by work. That’s normal but I’m curious, what do you do when that happens? Well, for me, I drive to the beach to get recharged. Haha! Besides watching undulating waves crash against the shorelines while sipping delicious virgin Piña Coladas (which is very therapeutic by the way), I also decided to unleash the little fashion monster in me by ditching the beach shorts for culottes instead! Culottes have been extremely à la mode for the past few seasons and I don’t see the trend dying anytime soon. They are so versatile, you can pretty much pair them with anything and they’ll look great for any occasion or location. Amongst Disney’s classic collection of stories, I’ll have to say that The Jungle Book has one of the most fascinating and memorable stories, narrating the story of a young boy brought up by wolves, hunted by a fearsome tiger, protected by his feline mentor then meeting his new happy-but-forever-hungry bear friend! Following Mowgli on his wild and crazy adventures was quite a thrill ride. This enthralling live-action reimagining of The Jungle Book certainly brought back many fond memories from my childhood. So today, I decided to pay homage to this classic film that Walt Disney himself personally worked on before his death in 1966 by creating my very own Urban Jungle Lookbook! Haha! Don’t worry, I’m not going hog wild with this one. There’ll be no leopard prints or snake-skin bags. Instead, I’m opting for a more subdued jungle-inspired look that is strung together by minimalist accessories such as Indian-inspired chandelier earrings, a snake bracelet and a lush green crossbody carrier. La vie est belle Life is beautiful and fashion also becomes more playful especially when we transit into Spring Summer! For the past couple of years, somehow I always ended up in Paris during this time, either for a holiday, photo shoot or stopover while visiting the folks in nearby Britain. The one thing that stood out about the French is not only their ability to perfect the art of savoir faire but also their super power to look stylish all the time, even while shopping for brie! Despite the warmer season, it can still get pretty chilly in the mornings and evenings in Paris. So no matter how little they wear, the french fashionistas always make sure they complete the look with a tres chic coat. I’ve read a few fashion portals and it seems like this season’s trend centres around colors, florals, boho and motifs. Fortunately, those are already the key themes of my wardrobe staples but I really wanna switch things around this time. Therefore, for this ensemble, I’m going for a more subtle combination of white shirt and ripped jeans, then cosying it up with a bright garden themed spring coat to elevate the look. Ouais! However, the look still hovers along the cooler and softer side of the color spectrum. It’s summer after all, so I’m also looking at the warmer and brighter sides of the pantone swatch book. Good Day Sunshine! 🌞 These days, a sunny day is as rare as hen’s teeth so yesterday’s clear blue sky was a total miracle. I decided to not waste such a perfect day playing couch potato and instead, head out for some much needed sunbathing. Haha! I visited Gardens By The Bay for Pandora’s Summer 2016 Collection launch recently and was totally in awe of its beautiful landscapes and garden-esque architecture. Sheesh.. Why hadn’t I visited earlier?  So on this very precious sunshiny day, I decided to pay our little city garden another visit. For the outfit, I went for a 90s boho look assembled by comfy jeggings, relaxed top and a choker, that is actually a bracelet. Well, you have to creative when you realize you threw all your 90s accessories away, thinking THEY’LL NEVER COME BACK. *flashing my sheepish grin* I also visited Marina Bay Sands (MBS) later for a mini shopping spree. For this, I ditched my sky high heels for comfy sneakers from the shoe elves at Kurt Geiger! Since I was going for a hearty meal after my shopping extravaganza, I decided to wear a more flattering pair of shorts (with flared layers on the front, mind you!) to hide the food bump later.
