“My point is, life is about balance. The good and the bad. The highs and the lows. The pina and the colada.” – Ellen DeGeneres 🍹
Haha! And now we can also smell like a glass of delicious Pina Colada with The Body Shop’s delectable assortment of summer-inspired body care products. Think Piña colada flavoured scrubs and body butters!
Summer is looking a lot sweeter and happier this year. Scroll down to check out The Body Shop’s latest summer additions!
Pinita Colada Shower Gel (S$12.90, 250ml)
Pinita Colada Exfoliating Cream Body Scrub (S$36.90, 250ml)
When we think about scrubs, the idea of synthetic granules polluting our precious environment inevitably pops into our heads.
Well, don’t worry about this sweet-smelling scrub by The Body Shop because it uses only real shredded coconut.
You’re probably already attuned to the amazing abilities of coconuts but guess what? The husk of the fruit is not only environmentally friendly, it also sloughs away dry skin effectively, giving you smoother skin for summer!
Talk about killing two birds with one stone. 😛
Pinita Colada Fresh Body Sorbet (S$19.90, 250ml)
Pinita Colada Body Butter (S$30.90, 200ml)
I’m pretty sure every tropical-born has a palate for the alluring and absolutely refreshing flavour of coconuts and pineapples and of course, so do I.
For that reason, Pinata Coladas are always my cocktail of choice for summer.
With this new range, I can now smell my favorite tropical flavours all day! Haha!
However, the warm season is also the culprit of sticky skin so I wouldn’t recommend applying the Body Butter in the day. Instead, get your dose of tropical goodness with the Body Sorbet which feels extremely lightweight on the skin. I’m actually very impressed with its fast-absorbing abilities.
To be honest, I always find The Body Shop’s shower gels a little drying and I was hoping this new shower gel was going to ‘break the wheel’ but unfortunately, I found it as drying as its counterparts.
Well, I guess there’s always their Body Butter to make up for the loss in moisture. 😛
You’ll be happy to know that the Piñita Colada Body Butter and Exfoliating Cream Body Scrub are also enriched with Community Trade organic soya oil that is well known for its rich moisturising properties, making it a great base for their nature-inspired products. It is rich in essential fatty acids, caring for even very dry and mature skin.
Besides its amazing line of products, I’ve always been very impressed with The Body shop’s unwavering commitment to giving back to the community and raising awareness about environmental issues. The Body Shop sources their Community Trade organic soya oil from Gebana, located in Capanema, Brazil.
Gebana is against deforestation, they promote sustainable, organic farming methods – while boycotting chemicals and pesticides – and they’re against the spread of genetically modified crops, despite them being more lucrative.
Kudos to The Body Shop and Gebana! And now we can be socially responsible while we enjoy our Piñita Colada products!
There’s no better way to add a little zing and zest to our beauty routine than this. 🙂
They say beauty’s only skin deep, still, we should never neglect our skin health.
On top of delightful smelling body products, we were also introduced to The Body Shop’s new Skin Defence range at their Summer of Love Party last April.
And say hello to the star product of the collection – The Body Shop Skin Defence sunscreen.
It is a milk-to-water formula that contains wholesome ingredients such as Red Algae Extract (from the North Atlantic) and Vitamin C to dauntlessly protect you from both UVA and UVB rays.
It was truly a Summer of Love extravaganza. I’ll be sharing more new products from the party on my Instagram @ilovebunnynet.
Stay tuned because Summer is just getting started!
Thank you The Body Shop and WOM Communications for the invite!
