The recent visit by the esteemed British royals Prince William and Kate Middleton sparked a new wave of British culture and couture in Singapore.
And just when we thought our whirlwind romance with the English is over…
We are about to witness another British invasion by our young and glamorous GlamoGirl!
While on a trip up to Great Britain, GlamoGirl fell into a starry love affair with all things English. Unafraid to bring her love baggage home, she flew back to Singapore with her treasure trove of beauty products, chief among them were brands such as Dirty Works and Exposed.
And I was very honored to be invited to GlamoGirl’s Glam Rocks! party at the Executive Patio Suites at Naumi Hotel to try out these new British beauty goodies. Woohoo!
To remember this joyous gathering, GlamoGirl has requested that we all sign on her lip-shaped guest board before we grab our cocktails.
And there I met the friendly Elrica.
We camwhored in GlamoGirl’s classy and pretty bathroom.
Her bathroom was 60s inspired with classy ornaments that reminded me of Audrey Hepburn’s elegant and timeless style in the movie ‘ Breakfast at Tiffany’s’.
We noticed GlamoGirl was already using some of the Dirty Works skincare and body products. No wonder she is glowing with radiance lately!
To make us feel at home, GlamoGirl requested that we all change into the comfortable Glam Rock! bejeweled t-shirts and fluffy bedroom slippers that she had prepared for us.
That girl is so thoughtful!
And so we did.
Her room took on a different theme.
Instead of the classy 60s look, it had a more heavy metal edge to it with electric guitars as its centerpiece.
To make sure we do not miss out on any great product, GlamoGirl has divided her suite into three stations –Wet Works, Dry Works and Mani / Pedi stations where we got to try Dirty Works’ body and skin care products, and Exposed’s range of trendy professional nail lacquers.
She also engaged the help of her friends to act as our guide for each station!
Wet Works
At this station, we got wet and wild with Dirty Works’ skincare and bath products – from scrubs to washes to face masks!

After all the scrubbing and washing from the Wet Works station, we were introduced to the Dry Works station where we were offered diva-style pampering with a variety of Dirty Works lotions and creams for maximum moisturization.

Mani /Pedi Station
We arrived at our final station to be treated to a nice manicure session with nail polish from Exposed Professional Nail Lacquer.
I heard it was love at first sight for GlamoGirl! The glam goddess liked the nail polishes so much that she brought back 72 yummy colors from the popular UK nail polish brand.
We also helped ourselves to some yummy canapes and dessert specially prepared by GlamoGirl!

Afterthoughts… Doctors have recommended that the best way to eradicate body acne is to exfoliate regularly with a body scrub. As such, I go for body scrub treatments every month to maintain my skin.
Lately, I have come to realize that this is a rather expensive ‘fixed expenditure’ and this has urged me to look for a cheaper alternative.
So imagine my excitement when I saw the body scrub in my hamper. Only one word was spinning in my head and that was ‘PERFECT’.
The body scrub carries the same sweet-smelling fragrance as the Supreme Cream Body butter and I immediately became a fan.
Even though the beads were pretty huge, they did not irritate my skin. The shea butter and almond in the scrub left my skin feeling soft and the massage from the beads stimulated my skin to give off a more radiant complexion.

Afterthoughts…
This is perfect for the price conscious and the lazy bums. Haha! Why? Because the clear nail polish plays triple roles by acting as a base coat, top coat and a hardener all at once.
My gelish nails usually last about three weeks but to make sure the polish doesn’t chip early due to my soft nails, I’ll apply a top coat every 3 days. The 3 in 1 nail polish came in handy as it is not only a top coat, it is a hardener too. So this means longer lasting gelish nails for me!
This is my gelish nail after 3 weeks.
After applying a thin coat of Exposed 3 in 1, my nails immediately looked shiny and glossy. I thought it brought the dull nail ‘back to life’!
