《新年旧梦》Old dreams, new year. 🧧✨

Chinese New Year Eve has always been my favourite.

Every year, Grandpa and Grandma would wake up early.

Grandpa would play classic Chinese and CNY songs, the kind that sounded like they came straight from a gramophone.

Grandma would already be in the kitchen, cooking away, while Grandpa chopped festive pork, duck, and roast chicken, happily humming along to his CNY tunes.

My dad would be decorating the house, and everyone would joke that it looked like we’d accidentally stepped into Chinatown.

My mum would paint her nails… and mine too then move on to preparing the red packets.

That’s why I call this video 新年旧梦 which literally means Old Dreams, New Year.

A nostalgic CNY.

This little video, sprinkled with a touch of magic dust, takes me back, just for a moment.

This time, with my husband Bobby, who loves these old-school vibes just as much as I do (as you can probably tell from the video).

Psst! A fun fact!

We actually got together during Chinese New Year, so this video feels especially on point, a little quirky, and very us.

I love that we’re now making new CNY memories together.

This has to be my most favourite. Every time I ask anyone what their favourite macaron brand in Singapore is, the answer is always Annabella Patisserie. And now — a whole tower of it, complete with the cutest zodiac animals. I’m obsessed 😍

Such a great festive gift. It instantly brightens up any dinner table and makes the perfect dessert after mala steamboat. 🌶️🔥 (You need something sweet after that.)
