Bridal Beauty Log: Introducing My New Zit Buster Team – The LJH Tea Tree Range!

We all know that Tea Tree Oil is the best answer to achieving ‘acne freedom’ due to its unique disinfecting and calming properties.

But the sad news is, it’s never been very effective for me. All it does is choke me with its sharp herbal scent. Okay, occasionally it treats a couple of pimples but they usually come back like uninvited guests – unannounced and bothersome.

I was suffering the aftermath of a zit attack when my good friend, Ivan of HKCplaza.com handed me one of LJH’s best sellers – the Tea Tree range.

Even though I greatly appreciated his kind gesture, I wasn’t sure if the product was going to work on me. But as the old cliche goes, ‘There’s no harm in trying’. And since I was heading overseas for my wedding shoot soon, I lugged the LJH skincare products along.

Lo and behold! Like a miracle that only happens in fairytales, my skin cleared up and there was almost no zit left on my skin within a couple of days. I used ‘almost’ because there was still one tiny spot on my chin but that’s another story. 😛

So here I am, two weeks after using the products – happy and pretty much spot-free!

In case you’re wondering, the numbers on the labels signify the percentage of tea tree extract content in each formulation.

For example, Tea Tree 90 Essence is made up of 90% tea tree oil.  These days my skin care regimen begins with the LJH Tea Tree 30 Cleansing Foam that gently lifts the grime and dirt off my face.

As the label states, the cleansing foam is made up of 30% natural tea tree extract which helps it fight acne problems while keeping your face clean and refreshed. Its pH5.5 acidity level is perfect for maintaining healthy skin.

Besides tea tree extract, the cleansing foam also contains witch hazel, a natural astringent which can help with acne control by reducing inflammation and decreasing oil, as well as Hippophae rhamnoides extract that offers 800 times more vitamins than an apple.

The formulation also includes Centella asiatica that promotes collagen synthesis, promoting skin’s natural regeneration.

And the best thing of all? It does not have Paraben, Mineral Oil, Artifiial Coloring, Benzophenone, Fragrance, Animal Material and Triethanolamine in its ingredient list.

Ingredients: Melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree) extract, hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) extract, centella asiatica extract, adansonia digitata leaf extract, morus alba root extract, hippophae rhamnoides extract.

More info of the cleansing foam here.

My wholesome skincare regimen continues with LJH’s Tea Tree 90 Essence.

The Tea Tree essence has one of the lightest consistencies – almost like water. It glides on very easily and dissipates very quickly into the skin, leaving no sticky residue.

As I’ve mentioned earlier, I’ve never been a huge fan of tea tree oil’s pungent aroma so I was glad that the essence is fragrance-free. Now I can go out without smelling like a Narrow-leaved Tea-tree!

It’s ingredients are similar to that of the Tea Tree Cleansing Foam. The stark difference between their ingredients list is the tea tree extract content. Tea Tree extract makes up a whopping 90% of its content so it is an effective tool to get rid of zits.

I usually use this after cleansing and applying toner so that my skin can absorb it fully.

Ingredients: Tea tree extract (90%), trehalose, vitamin tree, centella asiatica.

More info of the essence here.

The great thing about this LJH Tea Tree line is that they treat your zits without stripping your skin of its natural oils, unlike many acne treatments which may be too drying.

For extra moisturization, you could also apply the LJH Tea Tree 80 Cream that performs dual functions – clear up blemishes and hydrate the skin.

I took a whiff of the jar and was surprised that the tea tree fragrance is slightly more prominent in this cream but it is not unbearable with a the usual strong medicinal scent. In fact, it smells light and soothing.

The texture may look thick in the picture but trust me, looks are deceiving. I smoothed it over my skin and within seconds, the cream was absorbed fully without a greasy feeling.

On top of tea tree oil and centella asiatica, it also contains Aquaregul-K for 96 hours of moisture and glow. It retains water in the skin and acts as an antioxidant to protect your skin from the damaging effects of the sun.

Ingredients: Melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree) extract, glycerin, centella asiatica extract, hippophae rhamnoides extract, hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) extract, thymus vulgaris (thyme) flower/leaf extract.

More info of the cream here.

These days, the humid weather and work stress still give me occasional pimples but on the whole, I think my face has cleared up quite a bit.

I never knew topical creams could render such excellent results. I wish the range could include an exfoliating scrub too. I would really love to slough those dead skin cells off without causing a pimple outbreak.

Meanwhile, 5 Honeyz crowns for its effectiveness and positive skin care outcomes! 😀

As mentioned, I brought it along with me to Paris for my photoshoot. I used it everyday to maintain a clear complexion.

Hmm.. it blends in pretty well with the City of Romance eh?

Do you know that the creation of the LJH Tea Tree 90 Essence stemmed from the popularity and effectiveness of their LJH Doctor’s Care Facial Mask Sheet TeaTree?

Yup. After many customers with sensitive skin saw vast improvements in their skin condition after using the mask, LJH decided to create a slightly different version of the mask for everyday use. Subsequently, the LJH Tea Tree 90 essence was born.

I brought the mask along with me to complement my tea tree skincare regime too.

The humidity in airline cabins can get pretty low causing dry and flaky skin so my skin tends to break out after a long-haul flight. Well, this time was an exception because I used the mask on the plane too!

😛

The LJH Tea Tree range is now available on the Cube Store.
