Sponsored Review

Block out harmful UV rays of summer sun with Sunplay!

Summer has arrived again!

Putting on my favorite summer song on the playlist…

Whoopie! Here we go!

Oh wait!

Have you forgotten something?

Sunscreen!

This summer we need an ultra strong sunscreen to fight off those sun rays and Sunplay has just what we need!

Sunplay, the no.1* sunscreen brand in Japan, has launched its new Sunplay range with a patented, improved sun care technology, SOLAREX-3. It combats the three signs of sun damage namely sunburn, aging skin and dryness, so you can play long hours under the sun carefree!

What it offers

1. Protection from Sunburn

  1. Highest UVB and UVA protection.

  2. Uses UV Reflectant Technology that acts like a mirror to reflect UV rays away from your skin.

  3. Superior photo stability for long hours under the sun.

2. Protection from Skin Aging

  1. Contains Ronacare Ectoin and Antileukine 6, two advanced anti-aging ingredients to protect your skin from aging, wrinkles and brown spots.

3. Protection from Dryness

  1. Contains Hyaluronic Acid, which can lock up 1000 times its weight in water. This helps to reduce water loss from your skin and ensure skin stays hydrated.

Here’s what I think about the new formula…

Guess what. The first sunscreen I ever bought was Sunplay’s Super Block sunscreen. That was probably more than a decade ago. Since then, I’ve always brought my trusty Sunplay sunscreen for frolicking at the beach.

You may be wondering why I’ve been such a loyal fan. Well, it is because it is the first sun block lotion I’ve ever know that does not have a viscous texture. When I was a young girl, I never understood why mommy always applied this white, thick and greasy substance (sunblock lotion) on me whenever we go swimming or head out to the beach. Sometimes, I think it even ruins my mood for good fun as I will become sweaty and sticky very quickly. Of course, I blame it all on that white substance.

Mom is a beauty junkie and she’ll always explain the importance of layering on that sunblock before we go baking in the sun. I understood her good intentions but still hated the sunblock. So as I got older and started to earn my own keep, I began to search for beauty products that suit me and my skin. And the first product I bought? Sunplay!

Its texture is extremely light and it is absorbed very quickly into the skin after application. It is the same with the new and improved Sunplay with SOLAREX-3. Nothing has changed except its enhanced sun protection features.

That chemical smell is still there but it disappears shortly after application.

However, I realized I tend to apply too much sunscreen because if its ultra light texture. And when I do, it produces this white cast over my skin.

So how much sunscreen should you apply?

As stated in this post – In theory, you should use approximately two milligrams of sunscreen per square centimeter of skin. In practice, this means applying two tablespoons of sunscreen to the exposed areas of the face and body – a 50-cent sized dollop to the face alone.

The sunscreen causes minor break outs on my acne prone skin so I only use it on my body.

The SPF PA+++ 130 is ideal for long hours in the sun. I get sunburns rather easily and once, it got so bad that I could peel my skin off like a rattlesnake. So thumbs up to its high SPF! Though I still highly recommend you to reapply sunscreen every two hours, especially after swimming.

Overall, a great sunblock packed into a small bottle.
