Beauty Review: Indulge in Nails

Since I started donning sky high stilettos, my poor feet have been suffering the aftermath of it – hurting feet, ingrown nails, unsightly calluses and heel fissures.

Eew.

You’ll probably be surprised to know that these are not just physical feet problems, they may also lead to more serious complications such as bone infections. Gulp! So we should never take ‘high heel hangovers’ lightly.

And the remedies? Massage, moisturize and soak feet in mineral foot baths. These can help to alleviate the pain and keep the skin on the feet soft and supple. And not to forget, a soothing pain-relieving pedicure!

Pedicures are perfect for removing ingrown nails, thick calluses and for pampering the feet.

And if you’re living in the northern part of Singapore, you might be happy to know that there’s a perfect place to do it. Click for deets!

Indulge in Nails is the brainchild of nail care veteran, Susan Yang. She specializes in manicure, pedicure, 3D nail designs, hand and foot care. She started this salon a year ago and has served many happy and satisfied heartlanders of Ang Mo Kio.

In case you’re wondering, Susan’s salon is strategically located at 446 Ang Mo Kio Ave 10, #01-1661 HDB Ang Mo Kio Singapore 560446.

And now we enter Susan’s classy little girly zone!

There are flowers ‘blooming’ everywhere – from walls, to plushies which I found somewhat reminiscent of an English garden. Haha!

Check out their enormous collection of nail polishes!

What I absolutely love about Indulge in Nails is their hygiene mantra. They adhere to good sanitation practices by ensuring that all tools and sinks are thoroughly sterilized before the customer uses them.

Susan squirting antiseptic lotion into the sink.

These are my horrible tootsies before the treatment.

High heel horror! One of the many ramifications of wearing high heels are bruised toe nails (or subungal hematoma). Since I can’t treat them right now, I decided to cover them up with a dark gelish nail polish.

Here’s my choice!

NSI Polish Pro Light-Cured Gel Polish in Midnight color

According to Susan, our nail plates hold grime, moisture and oil so to ensure that the gelish manicure last, we need to get rid of them by dehydrating them with this NSI Nailpure Plus Nail Preparation. It is an exclusive product from the NSI line that reduces lifting, improves adhesion, and prevents infection.

This is Susan, hard at work.

And then I’m done!

Well, I thought so at least.

To fully eliminate the dry patches, Susan gave my feet a final nourishing massage with a sweet-smelling moisturizer that is dedicated to the hands and feet.

I had a fancy party that weekend and I was planning to dress as… erm Super Bunny?

So I decided to decorate my fingernails with (none other than) cute bunnies!

My manicure was administered by Susan’s colleague, Crystal, who’s just as experienced and well-trained in her field.

Crystal used the same products and followed the same hygiene procedures as Susan.

I’m the luckiest girl in the world! 😛

Like Susan, Crystal culminated the manicure with a relaxing hand massage.

Say hello to my sleepy bunnies!

And if you’re interested to try the same design, here are the colors I used to achieve the bunny look.

The shimmers were created with NSI Polish Pro Light-Cured Gel Polish in Pink Peep Toes color.

Within a mere two hours, I received a full foot and hand treatment and fresh coats of nail polish on my nails.

Thank you Susan and Crystal for the pleasant service and immaculate paint work! Muuahhh! :*

Before I parade my new bunny nails, here are my thoughts after the visit…

Their dedication and passion totally shines through the quality of their work. On top of pretty designs and a well kept salon, I was also impressed with their added attention to hygiene and sanitation. This is a huge plus point to me as we all know that there are millions of germs lurking in those nail tools and practicing proper disinfection techniques will prevent the spread of harmful germs.

The only gripe is – it’s not within walking distance to Ang Mo Kio MRT station so getting there might be a hassle for some. Nonetheless, it is still a rather good salon with great value and service.
