Beauty Review: Himalaya Herbals Nourishing Skin Cream

My recent wide swath of work commitments has made me busier than a bumble bee.

As such, I find it very challenging to even stick to my regular beauty routine. But I’m only a few months away from the Big Day so I know I can’t be a beauty renegade now. I can hear the clock ticking already!

Well, I can’t cut back on the workload but I can certainly look for a solution to the problem.

And my beauty remedy came in the form of Himalaya Herbals Nourishing Skin Cream! I was elated when I read about its emollient and anti-pollution properties on fellow beauty bloggers skincare entries. And wait for it…

It is an all-purpose moisturiser that you can use on the body and face, at anytime of the day.

Amazing, isn’t it? Scroll down to find out more about its usage and herbal contents!

If you’ve been watching our local TV shows during prime time, you would have noticed this alluring commercial that features a lady looking effortlessly perfect and showing off her dewy skin while at work.

And the secret to her glowy skin? This Nourishing Skin Cream from the long-standing beauty brand Himalaya Herbals!

Since its inception in 1930, Himalaya has focused on developing safe, natural and innovative remedies that will help people lead richer, healthier lives.

Today, Himalaya is a global leader in the herbal healthcare industry with products sold in 89 countries. Their naturally-produced products are well endorsed by more than 300,000 healthcare professionals worldwide.

Why?

Because their products are produced with herbs that are grown on over 700 acres of clean and green farmland. They also exercise strict control over the production process making sure that the ingredients used are cultivated using renewable resources with no pesticides or artificial fertilisers.

So you can be certain that you’re only getting the best and most reliable products from Himalaya.

And the best part?

They make sure their products are sustainably produced by 2,500 farmers who in turn receive a steady source of income through their buyback agreements.

And this socially and environmentally conscious organisation has just released their latest product – The Himalaya Herbals Nourishing Skin Cream.

It is a light, non-greasy, daily-use cream, which provides all day moisturising, nourishment and protection. It is infused with natural herbal actives that produce excellent hydrating, anti-inflammatory, astringent and antioxidant effects that protect the skin from various environmental hazards.

The cream is an excellent moisture retainer by preventing trans-epidermal water loss to help the skin stay healthy and supple.

The cream is a herbal cocktail. Here are its main ingredients:

Aloe vera – possesses properties that help to moisturize and hydrate the skin and this prevents trans- epidermal water loss .

Winter cherry (Withania somnifera) roots– possesses glycosides which exhibit potent antioxidant and skin conditioning benefits.

How to use?

Apply it all over your body, especially on dry areas like elbows and knees. For all skin types, it can be used as a makeup base. For best results, apply regularly on the skin.

Where to buy?

Watsons/ Guardian/ Unity/ Giant/ Mustafa/ Exclusive Himalaya outlet located at Harbourfront centre #02-703

Here’s what I thought about the cream…

Is it possible for a single moisturizing cream to be used all over the body? From the delicate skin on the face and around the eyes, to the worn weathered skin on our hands and knees? Well, Himalaya Herbals seems to think so.

In a no frills turquoise green and white tub, it definitely exudes a cool glacier mint vibe.

Beneath the inner foil seal resides a luscious lightly floral scented cream that is cool to the touch.

Like the label claimed, its thick consistency did not constitute a sticky and greasy finish. Instead, the product feels weightless and absorbs well, creating a smoother plumper-looking complexion.

Even my mother enjoyed using the cream. She liked how it delivered moisture to her parched skin without a greasy aftermath.

Perhaps a tad too oily for those occasional extra hot and humid days, on the whole this is a great one for all moisturizer that I’ve found myself using on my hands, elbows, face, wherever, especially if I’m in a drying air-con environment like in the office or in the car.

The cream was excellent as a primer too. It helped my makeup stay put and smudge-free for hours.

Carrying one cream around instead of several definitely has its benefits. The 50ml edition is perfect for travels and even during my wedding day itself when my skin could get very dry and flaky from the pre-wedding jitters. Since I can’t lug around a ton of skincare products to hide my stressed out skin, the cream could be my concealer, moisturiser and makeup base.

I can finally get my act together. 🙂
