I don't think I talk about this enough... 🐾 Besides Disney and Hello Kitty, Snoopy has been one of my favourites since I was a kid. So when I discovered the newly revamped Snoopy Store at WEAVE, Resorts World Sentosa, I absolutely went bonkers. 😂 This was how it looked when it first opened. I happened to chance upon it back in May when it first opened, and I remember feeling so excited about this new store. This is a month later, when I was invited to the media preview. Omg, I can't believe it! The café was fully open, the shop was complete, and it looked even better than before. I was so happy! The back of the store is now fully revamped with a postcard station and new Snoopy outfits from Goldwood. You can also send a Snoopy postcard to yourself (which I thought was such a cute touch 💌), and there are plenty of Singapore exclusive Snoopy collectibles and merchandise that you won't find elsewhere. Psst... there are some great deals too! 🌭🍦🍪 Any 3 for $10 (hot dog, ice cream or cookies). Bobby had the Snoopy Coffee while I tried the Honey Yuzu, both were delicious, and the coffee even came with adorable Snoopy latte art. ☕️ I remember when I was about 7 or 8 years old, I would save up my pocket money to buy Peanuts comics from my school bookshop. My mum used to get so annoyed because she would say they were basically all pictures and hardly any words. 😂 But there was something about that little beagle and his friends that completely captured my heart. I still remember my very first Peanuts comic. It had a soft pastel pink cover with the title embossed in gold. I treasured that book so much. I think my parents threw it away when we moved house, and I've honestly never forgotten it. Walking into this store felt like coming full circle. No, Disney didn't cast me. Yes, AI let me pretend for one photo. But I did watch the Moana live action, and fair warning, this won't be the review you're expecting. I know the critics have been critical. I know half the internet was upset about Maui's hair. Okay. Noted. But here's my honest take: I thought the movie was amazing. Yes, it's almost a scene-by-scene retelling of the original. But here's the thing. I watched the animated Moana ten years ago, and even though the film is the same, I'm not. And that changed everything. The Part Where It Got Personal There was so much in this film that reminded me of my own journey over the last decade. I've always been the type to believe I'm one of the lucky ones who could make things happen, that if I put my whole heart into something, I'll make it. And I still believe that. But that belief was tested when I started my physical clinic and found myself in an environment where not everyone believed in the things I believe in, or could see my vision. I learnt some expensive lessons. So watching the journey to restore the heart of Te Fiti hit differently this time. Halfway through, even the team gives up. Maui walks away, convinced they'll never make it. I've been there. I've sat in that exact place, wondering, will I ever actually do what I set out to do? And then came the scene. Moana and Maui fail to get past Te Kā, the corrupted, heartbroken alter ego of Te Fiti, and Maui, shattered, leaves. Moana, alone on the ocean, starts to believe she was never the chosen one. She's ready to give up. And that's when her late gramma and her ancestors come to her, and remind her of who she is. Go listen to I Am Moana (Song of the Ancestors) again. Especially if you're in the middle of a challenging season right now. Feel what I felt. That strength is inside you. You're still going to make it. I believe in you. 💛 Okay, Back to the Actual Movie The cast did an amazing job, especially Catherine Laga'aia. I could genuinely picture her as the animated Moana herself. The Rock was, as always, very fun to watch. Gramma Tala and Moana's parents were wonderful too. Hei Hei remains an absolute scene stealer, and seeing Pua in live action? I love Pua. That is all. And the outfits. Everything looked so good. Why It Stayed So Faithful The animated Moana was so complete, so well told, that there wasn't much left for this version to fill in, unlike Cinderella, where the live action added new layers and modernised the story slightly. My theory? Moana is so deeply loved that the team was afraid to change too much of this beloved tale. And honestly, I understand why. Final Verdict I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Ten years ago, when that scene played, I was simply wondering whether Moana would make it. This time, sitting in the cinema, I was wondering whether I would. Sometimes a film doesn't need to be different. Sometimes you're the one who's different, and the story meets you where you are now. From the moment we walked in, the tropical Southeast Asian-inspired interior had us completely enchanted and that view of the Rain Vortex? “Breathtaking” doesn’t even begin to cover it. The service was impeccable, and the food was on another level entirely. Honestly you cannot go wrong either way. But if you are anything like me, just order both. 😄 🌸 Kueh Pai Tee - A vibrant, colourful twist on a childhood classic, served on the owner’s grandfather’s personal vintage plate collection. This genuinely made me tear up a little. It reminded me so much of my grandparents’ kitchen - a true taste of nostalgia. 🍗 Ayam Bakar Nasi Lemak - Perfectly smoky chicken grilled over a specially imported Japanese grill using premium charcoal. Bobby and I loved every single bite and finished the whole plate. We also had the Charcoal Grilled Satay in both chicken and beef and this was a huge highlight. The portions are significantly bigger and chunkier than your typical satay - yet somehow still perfectly crispy and chargrilled on the outside while remaining incredibly moist and flavourful on the inside. Yumzzzz! We had so much fun that we kept talking about it even after the meal and we have already promised each other we will be back. Everything is neat, beautifully organised, and easy to navigate, making it far too easy to find what you’re looking for… and what you definitely weren’t planning to buy. 😂 From Indonesian snacks and childhood throwbacks to beauty steals and grocery deals that’ll make you cry happy tears, this place genuinely has it all. 1 million Rupiah is about SGD75 but everything I walked away with? Easily worth SGD300 back home. The staff are also incredibly helpful and knowledgeable - honestly, such a lovely shopping experience from start to finish. I want to start with something I don't say lightly: I am still a Disney fan. Even after everything I'm about to tell you. 1.5 Years in the Making I booked this sailing on the Disney Adventure 1.5 years in advance. Made arrangements at the clinic, coordinated my schedule, the works. Bobby secretly arranged a Baymax birthday package for my cabin because it fell on my birthday. The banners were up. I had my sailor hat on. Mickey was performing on deck. I was grinning like a child. And then the captain made an announcement. To give you some context… this was actually my second cancellation. I started planning in December 2024 and my first sailing was supposed to be the Disney Adventure maiden voyage in December 2025. That one got cancelled and we booked this one. So when the captain made the announcement while we’re on the rescheduled cruise trip, let's just say… I knew exactly how this feeling goes. 😅 When It All Stopped The cruise was being cancelled due to a mechanical issue. Just like that. Disney opened all their restaurants and told everyone to eat as much as they wanted. We sat down and tried. But around us, parents were quietly comforting their children - little ones in Mickey ears who didn't fully understand why the ship wasn't moving. The parents looked exhausted, holding it together for their kids while clearly heartbroken themselves. That hit harder than my own disappointment. 🥺 Why I'm Not Angry at Disney Disney lost millions cancelling this trip. But imagine the alternative - sailing with a mechanical fault, thousands of passengers on board, mostly children, something going wrong mid-sea. They chose safety over revenue. I respect that deeply. They also didn't disappear after. They followed up, reminded me to submit my receipts for claims, and handled everything with care and accountability. That is the Disney standard. We Brought the Party Home Bobby refused to let my birthday be a write-off. We packed up the Baymax banners and brought the whole party home. He'd hidden a Baymax plushie on our bed. I walked in from one of the strangest days of the year and found this big squishy marshmallow waiting for me. 🥹✨ He lives on our bed now. Permanently. If This Happened to You A few practical notes for anyone searching because the same thing happened to them: Compensation. Disney offered affected passengers one future sailing at 50% off per cancellation. As this was my second cancellation, I received two sailings at 50% off. So I'm going back this Christmas and again on my birthday next year! Wheeeee! If this was your first cancellation, you should have received one sailing at 50% off. Call Disney Cruise Line at +65 6228-3728 if you need further information on how to claim your 50% off. One important note if you were cancelled twice like me - not all customer service staff at the hotline may be aware of the two 50% off entitlement. If they tell you there's no such thing, just ask them to check with their team. Once they verify it, they will apply the discount when you provide your reservation number. Do not make any payments until you have confirmed this with a Disney customer officer first. Expense claims. Document everything - transport, activities, accommodation and submit receipts through Disney's official channels. Travel insurance. Just a heads up - the Vacation Protection Plan offered by Disney Cruise Line is not available for Disney Adventure sailings. So if you're looking for coverage, you'll need to arrange your own travel insurance separately. Coverage varies depending on how your insurer classifies a mechanical cancellation, so check your policy carefully and request official cancellation documentation from Disney if required. Oh gosh. I Can't Believe It's Back. 👠🖤 Okay real talk. Devil Wears Prada 2 is actually happening and I am not okay. I am so not okay. 🙈 Spoiler alert for the first movie ahead. You've been warned! She gave up her sleep, her friendships, her relationship, her entire identity and what did she get at the end of it all? Miranda Priestly didn't even smile at her in that final scene. Just a fleeting glance in the rear view mirror and that was it. No recognition. No reward. Nothing. I remember watching that as a wee 20 year old, bright eyed and fully convinced that life always has a happy ending. That hard work always gets rewarded. Hi belles and beaus! I'm back with the final Dhaka vlog and honestly this one hit different. 🥹🇧🇩 We did a spontaneous photoshoot right in the middle of the streets of Dhaka which was totally chaotic, fun, and completely unplanned. 📸 Then we drove 1.5 hours to visit one of Dhaka's most talked about restaurants. There's an infinity pool right in the middle of it. Was the drive worth it? You'll have to watch to find out 👀 but I will say the menu surprised me. South East Asian food done in a way I completely did not expect… and it was really good. We also explored Jamuna Future Park, one of Dhaka's largest malls and yes, I may have shopped a little.
